I believe in the NAB Cup you're allowed to play 6 on the bench.
-I would like to see the side somewhat resembling the one that is going to run out for Round 1.
-Use the NAB Cup games to see who out of Hughes Schulz and Riewoldt earns a spot along side Richo and Brown up forward.
-The 6 we are looking at playing for most of the year down back I would like to see play from the first game, let them develop an understanding on how each of them plays.
-Use the NAB Cup games to see how players like Raines and King go rotating through the middle.

Here is how I would like to see the team line up against the Saints:

B: Newman Thursfield McGuane
HB: McMahon Polak Bowden
C: Polo Coughlan (needs game time before the season) Connors
HF: Pettifer Hughes Tambling
F: M.Morton Schulz Riewoldt
R: Pattison Deledio Foley
I: Johnson King Graham Meyer Raines Jackson.

I would not give any of our new draftees a game unless they earn it, don't want them thinking that it is going to be easy just because they are highly rated. Let them earn their spot and force another young player out of the side, that is the best way for the side to develop.

Looks pretty good but Miller said Cotchin would slot straight into our team next year, so get him in there and you'll be near perfect!

If Cotchin was to earn a spot I would say he would take the spot of either Meyer/Raines/Jackson. Most likely Meyer at this stage.

We should really wait for the PSD/Rookie drafts before doing this because we all know another thread will pop up then too.

I would much rather see Cotchin and Rance in the side with the mentality that they have to keep their spot rather than earn it.

Seriously, i'd much rather see these blokes in match conditions. The NAB Cup is designed to give our new draftees game time. When H&A comes around, then we can make them force their way in, but for now.

B: King, Thursfield, Raines
HB: McMahon, Rance, Conners
C: Polo, Coughlan*, Morton
HF: Cotchin, Polak, Tambling
F: Simmonds*, Riewoldt, Brown*
R: Pattison, Foley, Deledio
INT: Graham, Newman, Hughes, Meyer

* - players i want to see in the side to grab some form before the season. Fully fit, these guys are our linchpins, we missed them all this year.

I would like to see us win some preseason matches next year so we can go into the h&a season with some confidence, not like this year where we only won 1 out of about 8 preseason matches.

I reckon that we need to let Couglahn, polo and Simmonds play because we dont want them coming in rusty for round 1. and also let brown find some good rythm in the off season
We also need to let Moore, Matt White, Oakley-Nicholls, Meyer, Shultz, Hughes, Casserley, Collins, Hyde, Tivendale

If they want to be in the Richmond team they have to show sometihng this year, alot of them are on the chopping block

Casserley Thursfield Moore
McGuane Rance White
JOD Cotchin Hyde
Meyer Hughes Brown
Rediwolt Shultz Edwards
Graham Deledio Foley
Simmonds McMahon Morton Couglahn Polo Raines

Bowden, Johnson, Tuck, Richo, Newman, Pattison
maybe to come in next game

Meh, nothing much else to do so why not discuss it as the list stands now, doubt it will really change that much with the addition of a PSD pick an 4 rookies. Hopefully after those drafts people might be smart enough to revisit this thread instead of starting another. Maybe one of the mods can sticky one of the NAB Cup lineup thread as well as one of the 08 line up threads so that we don't have thread after thread being started.

I sincerely hope that we heed a lesson from last year and dont go in with the stongest line up for the season.....Id like to see draftees and the likes of collins and casserley lining up...whilst richo sits in the stand keeping Mr whippie busy

Richo has always played pre-season unless injured, can't see it changing.

Cotchin better play. I'd like to see Casserly, Hughes and JON in there too
