Gibbs looks more like a third tall forward than a midfielder. ;)

Bryce is going to be a big boy.

A time of 1.09 and 3.07 for 5 metres and 20 metres and 8.5 in Agility is freakish and scary for a man mountain.

Kreuzer is as fast as Dangerfield and Farmer over 5 metres.

Don't you wish we picked Leuenberger and Cotchin instead of Bryce and Kreuzer?

“I tagged [Carlton’s Matthew] Kreuzer one day, even though he’s a ruckman,” the 193cm Kangars said.

Hasn't had much of a mention in the training reports. Must be hard for someone that size to keep a low profile but he seems to be so far.

It's all Judd what do you expect.. Kreuzer is very lucky that he will get hardly any attention this season due to Judd.. Very rare for a #1 Draft Pick

And a better kick as well. Dangerfield couldn't hit the side of a barn from 10m away. Very interesting selection from Adelaide there.

Pretty quiet out on the track Thylacine, and had a chance to see him speak at a function prior to Christmas, and he is a pretty shy sort of bloke.

I'd be pretty confident in saying that he would most definitely prefer NOT to have any media attention on him.

I have never heard of Cotchin, I have never seen Cotchin play, in fact I don't think there is any bloke on an AFL list by the name of Cotchin :)

Kreuz control baby! :D
So happy with his work tonight, took it in his stride, any nerves didn't show, worked hard, had great disposal and vision. So fast and mobile for a big man.

Loved the "Kruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuze" chant!
Took me back to the "Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooof" days!

Geez, didn't he play brilliantly? 15 possessions, 12 HO's and 2 goals too boot!

Worked brilliantly at the contest and covered the ground with incredible ease for a big fellow.

Spent more time in the ruck than expected but his form probably warranted. His workrate and athleticism was expected by all in the know but his focus on the job at hand what was really impressed me. Has to be a champion on what we saw on debut. :thumbsu:

Champion sure, but at what position? Will he end up as your ruckman or your full forward?

Way too athletic to 'waste' at FF - maybe a roaming CHF. Could become just too good to play anywhere but the ruck (resting forward). :thumbsu:

Two of Kreuzer's best attributes are his huge engine (ability to get to many contests, and to present around the ground), and his ability to compete as an extra midfielder once the ball hits the ground. Hence first and foremost a ruckman :thumbsu:

Very happy.

First year ruckman, so pretty much easing him into it...no use letting him get belted around by the big seasoned bodied ruckmen like the Charman's of the league....pretty sure his TOG is only around 50-65 % each week......he has shown glimpses at times that he will be a very special player in the future. His efforts and attributes at AFL level have mirrored those we saw at TAC level, just not for the sustained periods he did at that level yet.

Don't remember many first year ruckmen having a consistent impact week-in, week-out.

Here is a good example in case you missed it first time around ;)

...before going on to play one of the best quarters of footy you'll ever see from an 18 year old ruckman.

I suppose if you were essentially a 200cm midfielder you wouldn't look as coordinated as Cotchin either ;). Seeing as we got some bloke called Judd during trade week we made the right decision :thumbsu:

He's more coordinated than Laycock and even Jetta who couldn't beat him to the ball.

5RHjrFzLma0

You wasted top ten picks on Laycock and Bradley.

LOL.

Kreuzer has won more games in one season than Neagle has managed in three, so I'll have more uncoordinated players like Matty if you can find them. You stick to drafting the Ryders who do the flashy stuff like Thomas, but don't work or go as hard as Kreuzer and Murphy.

this wasn't meant to be a carlton vs essendon thing, merely stating a fact.

besides if it was to be a carlton vs essendon thing we'd all know who would win anyways ;)

good luck against the tigers in your massive 8 point match

So your big statement of "fact" is that a 2m tall teenager looks a bit uncoordinated.

:eek::eek::eek:

Call Hutchy.........this is unbelievable..........must be the first time in HISTORY!!!!

Fletcher has looked uncoordinated for his entire career.........and in fact its been used often as a defence for tripping...........somehow I think you are probably happy to have had his services.

As for Kreuzer, will be looking forward to the week off. Has laboured a little, which didn't stop him smashing Layjoke in the 4th Q and getting us back into the game.

No need to bring the head to head record into this sunshine because if we did it'd would favour a Carlton victory.

You sound very young so i'll point out the obvious for you. 200cm 18 year olds are still a few years off fully 'growing into their bodies'. Matthew actually moves exceptionally well for a boy his size. If you need an example of a 200cm 'unco' you need look no further than Laycock. ;)

A lot of what he does during games doesn't make the stat sheet.

The Eddie Betts inside out bannanna goal that got us going was due soley to the work of Kreuzer against two Saints opponents, locked it in, shuffled it out......no stat, but he made that goal from nothing.

Has done more in 12 games as an 18 y.o than Laycock has done in a career..........and smashed him head to head twice this year. Not sure what you are crowing about.:o
Time you left the board.

okay i'll leave. the laycock comparison is irrelevant anyway as he isn't a talked-up number 1 pick.

the betts goal was a result of kruezer tripping over his own feet and then fumbling the ball. he was stiff though, those types of things should make the stat sheet.

He'd be your best player in two years.

Look up middle of the road and you'll see Essendon occupying that space with the Saints.

Good luck with your next three years when Neagle will be your best forward, Stanton will be your captain and Ryder is holding your young backline together. Kreuzer will give Ryder a footballing lesson if he plays in the ruck or mans him up in our forwardline.

I now its voted on by the players but geez, to not poll above those last 2..............
A blessing in disguise maybe.... he'll continue to to get better and better without the pressures associated with mickey mouse type awards, just as Murph and Gibbsy have done.

I love the masturbation sessions some of the Richmond supporters are having over the fact we picked Kreuzer over Cotchin.:o
A 1st year midfielder will always have a better 1st year than a 1st year ruckman. And the fact they think we made a mistake over picking him over Cotchin. Our ruck stocks were thinner than some of the Geelong player's scalps and we almost had to pick him. No regrets at all, both teams should just be happy for ****'s sake.
