For those interested, talented Richmond youngster Brett Deledio will be lining with the Richmond Cricket Club in their Round 3 Twenty20 cricket match against Prahran at the Punt Road Oval on Wednesday December 12. The game starts at 5:15pm and Admission is free. He was actually offered a vic bushrangers scholarship by Hooksey (prior to his tragic death) in an attempt to lure him away from AFL.

I'm sure he was either a prominant U/16 Vic player or Captain of that side.

He was also a gun footy player & Hooksey made a play for him.

He knocked it back, went into the draft........

Was offered a rookie contract. Basically a scheme to try and keep some blokes out of the clutches of the AFL. Cricket loses huge amount of kids in the southern states. Pretty much why all the fast bowlers are from NSW and QLD - rugby doesn't like tall, spindly blokes but the AFL loves them.
