Similar type of player.

I would vote Kerr, maybe a bit bias but I think he is more talented and explosive, also better at the one percenters.

Which one would you rather have on your team.

Why do people always say Ablett Jnr, like you could have possibly been comparing Kerr to Ablett Snr lol.

FWIW, Kerr easily!

Ablett for mine.

Honest player, very damaging midfielder who kicks goals or can play forward.

I like Kerr, but is a little bit unreliable with his actions and isn't a big goal kicking midfielder.

Kerr as a midfielder, Ablett as a forward.

Ablett.

Pretty close with their own field attributes but off field indiscretions also need to be taken into account and that puts Ablett well ahead.

Ablett more versatile but if just in the midfield it would be very close.

Ablett for disposal and shot a goal, Kerr for the harderbody at the ball and ablett and kerr are on par for dodging there op IMO.

Eaither way Geelong and westcoast a lucky to have such classy players.

Also hate to bring it up but, Ablett seems to keep his nose clean off feild too, Which is important if you listen to the media.

I take it you haven't seen too much of Kerr?
Bad temper aside, it is very hard to find fault with Kerr's game. Gets the hard ball, can run the lines, has a big tank on him, quick, creative disposal, strong mark, goes forward and kicks goals and runs back to help rebound out of defence. He does everything.

Gablett is a top player too, but l think a lot of you haven't seen much of Kerr. In the end it comes down to personal choice at best if you're picking Ablett. Kerr the better player.

At the 1 min 40 sec mark, Cousins to Kerr to Judd :(
Brings a tear to your eye knowing we'll never see that again.

Ablett has had 1 standout year, Kerr has been a standout for the last 4 years.

Seriously, Kerr is almost the best player in the league, better than Judd in my opinion. Ablett is an extremely talented footballer who went up another notch in 2007, but his name, the fact he's Victorian and the media wanting to have his children all inflate what he's actually achieved. Ablett very good, Kerr better.

Kerr by a country mile. ablett is over rated just because his a ablett. he aint nothing like his father and never will be. he is just a average player playing footy. i put ablett equal to the likes of a goal post. lucks a fortune

Do you watch footy? Maybe you missed round 22, goal in the last minute> Ablett is a matchwinner who kicks goals. Kerr is an amazing midfielder no doubt, but does not hurt teams by kicking goals anywhere near how Ablett does. Will also be interesting to see how Kerr goes this year without Judd and Cousins taking the best 2 tags each week, also shouldering much more pressure/responsibility. Ablett will back up imo and in 12 months time this discussion wont be taking place as it will be a no brainer that Ablett >>> Kerr

No doubt you're one of these deluded Blues who keep telling us that Carazzo and co are top quality midfilelders. If you really believe Ablett to be like a goal post, then aside from Judd and maybe Murphy, you're mob are the little plastic goal post that the little leaugers kick to at half time. hahahahaha Im stoked the Blues have Judd this year. He is gonna be the reason you all crawl out from under the enormous rock most of you have lived under these last 7 years. It is gonna be sweet to watch you all have hope, then scurry back to your rock when you realise that one Judd doesnt make a team. You'll still have a D grade backline, will be putting your hopes in a midfielder that has a more than suspect neck (and is ageing) and a forward line that revolves around a nutjob. Ablett = goalpost... please... apart from Judd, you havent got a player worthy of carrying Gazzas boots into the ground for him.

Yes I do watch footy. No I don't barrack for either side that these 2 players represent. So Kerr gaining 40 possesions in the midfield doesn't hurt teams? The guy has almost won the Brownlow in the last 3 years in a team where Judd and Cousins hogged the limelight. Gary Ablett kicks more goals, Gary Ablett spends more time on the forward line. It's not like young Gary doesn't have talent around him either and all the opposition focus is on him. Didn't Geelong have 9 All Australians this year and the Brownlow medalist? Take your blinkers off mate, Kerr has been outstanding for the last 3-4 years, Ablett had a great 2007, speculating on what will happen next year is neither here nor there. Kerr has been a better and more consistent player and in my opinion if I had a choice between Kerr and Ablett, I would take Kerr every time.

Silly poll really. Any team in the competition would love to have both of them playing for them, but Geelong wouldn't swap Gary Ablet Jr for Kerr and the Eagles wouldn't swap Kerr for Ablett !

I can honesty say in a non-bias and bias view that Kerr is the best ;)

Ablett Jnr not bad either just not as good, simple, I say he reigns in as fourth best behind Kerr, Judd and Bartel. In saying that the difference between them isnt that big.

Good summary. Both are great players but Kerr has been consistently good for many years now. A lot of WC people and media commentators rate him as good if not better than Judd. His physical strength and tackling are an area of his game many don't highlight but probably set him apart from Judd and Gablett. See his round up of the G Train recently. And his best games this year were when Judd and Cuz were out of the side and the team needed him to lift. The only area he needs to lift is his occassional poor disposal but thats a minor fault in his make up.

His last three seasons he has kicked 8, 11, 8 while having a huge midfield role.

Gary kicked 30 while having a huge midfield role. Gol kicking midfielders are gold so I would take Gary.

Ablett has the ability to do more of the in and under stuff, but has beautiful disposal, great pace and so damaging around goal that Geelong realise it is better to make him more of a ball carrier - he hurts you more. he hurts you more than Kerr.

Ablett.

I genuinely cannot believe that this poll is even. Ablett had a better 2007, maybe. But Kerr has finished top three in the brownlow the last three years I belive, while missing games each season, and is close to the best midfielder in the game behind Judd.

I understand why people are voting Ablett, but I honestly belive that Kerr is comfortably the better player.

Actually, Bartel averaged more votes per game played than Kerr did in 07 (Bartel missed 3 from memory), so your logic is incorrect.

As a player Kerr wins pretty comfortably. Right now all I want is a St Kilda premiership and Kerr would give us a better chance of winning one.

If your team has come under scrutiny for off-field problems and you want to get back in the AFL's good books then you would probably rather Ablett.

I have refrained from voting because I can't trust myself not to be biased... They each have their strengths over the other. Kerr perhaps is more effective as a pure midfielder, whilst Ablett kicks more goals...
