They did actually. Were all very impressed with the skills involved, and conceded that it was definitely more interesting live than on television. I made sure that I explained the rules as best I could beforehand; seemed to help.
It just happened by luck that the Dons decided to play their best footy of the year for 3 quarters, and they got to see the game played at the type of high standard we would hope to see.
A shame the last quarter was so awful. Quite amusing actually; my father is the type of person who gets worked up over sport, any sport, regardless of who is playing. Has never seen an AFL match in his life, and during the last quarter he is ranting constantly about "they can't control the ball! They're getting killed in the middle! They're going to lose....god dammit they're going to lose. Oh man, they're getting their butts kicked right now." And he was booing David Schwarz :D
Anyway, we all kicked back, had some brews, and watched some high quality footy. Was a terrific night, and I have been successful in aligning their club allegiances properly. They all want scarves now.
If anyone heard an obviously drunk American scream "JERRRY!" really loud before the game, that was my brother.
no Jerry is my brother ....but wait he's in Indianoplace.

Would have been a good game to take them to actually. Pretty high standard, quite exciting, with plenty of free-flowing action.

Pity the Bombers is the team they picked to support. Misguided, I'd say. :D
