Non-Victorian football states, lift your game please.

South and Western Australia have been classified with developing AFL States QLD, NSW, Tasmania, NT and the ACT. While I'm sure that jumper will look awesome, it's time for you to stop holding this great game back. Show a bit of heart. Some pride even.

Then you may one day be worthy of your own State guernsey. :thumbsu:

According to the VFL you mean?

To make it fair, they should play the game at either AAMI or Subi.

It should have been origin or nothing.

WA and SA have just as much right as Victoria. The AFL are wankers.

312 out of the current 650 AFL players are from Victoria. I think that's a fair enough reason to have Vics versus the latecomers!:)

I want France to Host the Cricket world cup, to celebrate Crickets 200th birthday, France Vs A combined team of the world, thats what your pretty much saying.

Imagine if Aussie Rules started in SA. SA vs Australia.

How would you feel about not having a team represent your state, instead a hybrid team with a gay guernsey.

Its a celebration of FOOTBALL not the AFL. Football's main three states in which it was bred (if it has only existed in Vic it would have died) were SA, Vic and WA. Makes sense to have Origin team's, as it always has been.

The AFL is so Victorian Biased, it will be its undoing and the reason Soccer will become the main sport of this country, sadly.

This is the only way we can make things fair to try an even up the match.

Victoria would smash SA or WA and who wants to see the Vic's belting a hapless SA?

If I wanted to watch that, I would've gone to this years Grand Final.

It's either this concept or nothing. If Victoria played SA, Western Australians and other states would go mad. And vice versa with WA.

From what I can tell there is a general hatred for Victorian football amongst all the other states, so this is the perfect opportunity to band together and try and show us that we're not as good as we crap on to be.

If this game didn't have Victoria in it, and wasn't played at the greatest stadium in the world, we wouldn't be doing Australian Rules Football and its history justice

Its a load of crap, and only Victorians are happy about it because they have a team representing them.

What are they getting out of it, nothing. Maybe they might sell a few tickets, but they have pissed more people off then they would have if they simply didn't have a match at all.

I would probably classify Tasmania more as a dying football state rather than a developing one. Because the powers that be in the AFL continue to seek the cash in West Sydney and QLD, and ignore the most tried and true football state, AFL will die a slow and painful death. 4 games a year from a nothing club like Hawthorn against interstate sides will not cut it. The Vics vs All-Stars game is a celebration of Aussie Rules to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first ever game played between Melbourne Grammar and Scotch College at the parklands where the MCG now stands.

I personally would have like to have seen a 4-team origin format: Vic, SA, WA and Allies (Qld/NSW/ACT/NT/Tas and even possibly the Irish). Play Vic vs SA and WA vs Allies then have the winners face off against each other in the final.

i have one go back to the old set up where there is one SOO game a year but only play one every 2-3 years so it dosnt get boring.

Tasmanians aren't going to flock to see a second rate bunch of players in a second rate competition together with a bunch of fly-ins who don't really want to be there from a rubbish club like the Kangaroos (thank **** that is gone). There are better players playing in other competitions in Tasmania who either cant be ****ed with the whole devils **** around, or who are who can't afford to give up their lives to get paid peanuts to play in a shit competition.

For the op to place us in the developing category makes him look retarded. Our history is as long as any other state, and we have produced some of the greats of hte game. Unfortunately, we wont be for much longer if the AFL keeps pissing on us.

Very disappointing that the AFL couldn't play Vic V SA and WA V Allies (Tas, Qld, NSW, ACT and NT) or any other combination between the four teams. People have to be realistic and realise that playing Tas, Qld, NSW, ACT or NT in their own right just won't ever happen again. I would love to see Richo in a Tassie guernsey. Sorry to anyone in those states but yeah it just won't happen again.

As for those in WA and SA, i'd be pissed too. But the one thing that stands out, is that this competiton of ours was once known as the VFL, made up of Victorian teams who branched out and put NEW teams in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. There are 10 Victorian teams, and 6 teams from other states. Just under half the players in the competition are from Victoria. Obviously there are enough players to field very strong teams for Victoria, SA and WA as well as enough combined to make up a strong Allies team but the AFL have chosen under alot of pressure from AFL clubs to run a one off match. This is not state of origin fools, its an exibition match and they decided to split the players between Victoria and the rest. If the SANFL had been the league that branched out and became the AFL then they would have done the same thing here, as would WA and any other state for that matter. It's a national game now but this exhibition game is cellabrating 150 years combining the old (Victoria and its football origin) and the current (every state playing the game).

I would have much preferred to have seen 4 teams, thus more players playing during that weekend but AFL teams won't allow it and quite possibly the best players wouldn't all turn up (fake injury etc). Wanks like Graham Cornes need to realise that this game is not state of origin. That concept is practically dead and buried. If he really wants SA to be represented fully then he should suggest that when the SANFL has a milestone year every state could combine to challenge the best SA has to offer. Fancy telling SA players to boycott when they have a chance to play with and against the best on offer in the one game. What a Fukmook!!!

It will be a highlight of the season and if everyone was to get behind maybe there could be scope for a proper return to State of Origin. Lets hope they select the teams on form and loyalty, not buzz players. Go Vics:thumbsu:

Hey at least our clubs over here don't have to rely on handouts from other clubs. Seriously Victorian football is losing its crediblity day by day (Bar Geelong + Collingwood).

Its just a shame the Victorian mindset is holding back the game ( Fonzie is changing that mindset slowly though)
