View Full Version : Which do you love more, the game or your club?

Simple question really.
A lot of blokes really value the game as a whole, even above and beyond their respective teams. Other blokes only live to follow their beloved club and couldn't give a rats about any other team or the way the game itself is run.
Which are you?
Being a Blues man, you can probably guess my answer, "We are the Blues, F$%K the rest"

Great question AJ :thumbsu:
The Club and as long we have some easy beat opposition like the Bombers and Cats..no problem.

The club, no (Western) Bulldogs then **** off to footy.

I think Willie Mason leaving will really hurt your forward pack. BTW Anthony this is an AFL discussion board, the NRL is somewhere down with the "other sports" but thanks for playing.

Love the game, but the game would not be the game if my club wasnt there, so therefore, my club.

The game doesn't have the same meaning or impact on me when my club's not involved, so definitely club.
I guess the 2 go hand in hand and you can't have one with out the other, but the club for me adds meaning and reason to the game.

i luv the game but it wouldn't be the same without my club.
i guess that's the same for the majority of supporters given how most supporters get emotional about things like re-location but put up with the crap that comes from the afl such as the inequities inherent in the draw.
No Hawthorn= No Interest. Still say its the best game in the world!

The club... But more so the game now that Hawthorn doesn't exist.
But that new team Tasmania is starting to piss me off.

Nice try hawk, you seem to know more about that bum sniffing so called game than me.
My team will always be the real bulldogs of the red white and blue not some thugby team.

I follow my local club and Geelong, if one folded/whatever id follow the other, and if both disappeared then i wouldn't really follow football so much, just check the scores now and then.

Do a search on him and get back to me. Definately, the highlight of his career.

Club. If Carlton didnt exist, neither would my love for the game.
Interesting question- the Kangaroo supporters should take note of the responses.

It is a good question and one I would answer as this... if the AFL decided at some stage to screw the Doggies to the wall, I would no longer follow the elite AFL competition. I would rather insert a knitting needle down the eye of my... oh well, you get the idea. However, it wouldn't stop me from loving our magnificent game... Footy! Maybe I'd venture into the MCG a couple of times a year to watch a great contest as a total neutral. Otherwise, it's a couple of beers on the wing watching Warrandyte or North Ringwood on a Saturday arvo from time to time. (And Park Orchards juniors on a Sunday morning of course.... do that now anyway!)
Club. If Carlton didnt exist, neither would my love for the game.
You must have been one of the 2000 people that followed the Carlton soccer club, given your love for the club was above that of the game.
The other 30,000 Carlton regulars obviously disagree with you.

Club.I love North and I love the game of AUSSIE RULES. I thought i would highlight that for those who think the AFL is the game.
I was brought up watching local footy and my love for footy steamed from there. As i got older my love for my club got stronger and stronger as I was able to attend games and I enjoyed watching North play and win. If North disappeared i would still find enjoyment in watching footy at a local level but the AFL can kiss my ass. I wont be supporting an organisation who thinks its bigger than the game itself.
