See, sometimes these things just pick themselves :)

So that's Wooden, RoJo, Sampi and Chick's numbers... who was 34 previously?

Whoops, I almost accidentally called Notte Joe Notte, like they did on the AFL site.

So whats happening with Benny's #9? Are they going to retirer it for 1-2 years like the #3?

Won't be officially retired like the #3 was.

Not a bad idea though to wait for a year before passing it on to someone new.

Interesting, but kind of predictable, they always give the numbers to players in their draft order.

I was hoping Selwood would get 36. I have seen him wearing it before and I thought it would be good to have the two brothers together.

That's not in draft order though Greennick. Notte was 3rd at 20 and Selwood 4th at 22. Obviously they were scared of Notte putting on too much bulk with the number 28!

Haha, didn't see that, oops. Do we know if 28/34 had any significance to Selwood/Notte?

I'm predicting that Notte has been earmarked to wear the No 3.

It will a while before he is ready for the rigours of AFL footy so we can develop him in the background for three years and then unleash him in 2011 in the no 3.

Of course that is just wild speculation, but hey prove me wrong.

Haha, sounds like a good idea to me. Someone to do justice to the jumper.

I hope Keyser is right - wouldn't surprise me either.

I want to continue to make other teams tremble in fear at our #3, even if it will be a few years away.

considering that when 'insert player here' gets the jumper, that's all they will see right?

28 is Troy Selwood's number at Brisbane.

I'm surprised he would want the same number as his oldest brother.

It may not have anything to do with his brother, eg. he may have worn it during junior footy. But I'm not really surprised if it does have something to do with his brother as he may have worn it when he was young because he looked up to Troy.

Wonder if Notte and Selwood fought over the 28 guernsey? I only say this because Notte wore 28 for Swans Colts.

If they did, I assume precedence would've been given to Scotty because he is far more likely to play AFL footy over the next 2 years and Notte should be able to upgrade for 2009/2010 after delistings, etc.

Adam has been delisted so Scott is going to take 37 as a mark of respect.

Not really - Scott will be wearing the slightly stretched #28.:)

As was mentioned in the OP.

Welcome aboard newcomer.:thumbsu:
