The AFL has attacked Channel 7 over its coverage and is set to sell rights for the next 10 years for at least $1 billion.

Now there are reports that TESLTRA is sniffing around after the rights. My god - Telstra? At least Seven has experience in how to manage broadcasting. Telstra cannot even get it right with telephones so why on Earth do they think they can handle the footy?

From what I understand Channel 7 and the AFL aren't talking at the moment, and it looks like been a bitter end to the 45 year relationship.

Apparently there has been a dispute over the filming of a Little League match played at Colonial a couple of weeks ago involving former players and their sons/daughters.

For some reasons 7 refused to film the match despite AFL requests. The AFL sent in a camera of their own 'for their own records.' Mysteriously, the footage of the game appeared on 9's Sunday Footy Show a couple of days later.

There were no AFL officials at the launch of the book on World of Sport - the love of the Game the other day.

Why do you think Wayne the Pain was on the Footy Show last night? There is no way he would have done that a year ago. As Sam Newman said to him - Kerry Stokes had told him it was inappropriate to appear on a rival network, and Jacko told him to stick it. 7 have decided to show Melbourne games over interstate ones this year as well.

As usual, the losers in this little spat are the football public, who not only miss their team playing games interstate, but have to put up with Wayne on the Footy Show as well!

But the AFL should be careful - don't want to burn all their bridges before they know what is on the other side.

I'm just worried that Malcolm Blight's head will pop up somewhere next year.
