I know this is going to attract a maelstorm of attention, but this is just one man's opinion...

After watching Mr. McGuire walking down the sidelines after the game with a $@$&-eatin' grin, and deservedly so, following an easy 33-point win over an ordinary Kangas side, I'll just say that in a few months from now, I would hate for my team to be playing yours. Very much a quality effort this evening...

If anyone had to ask me who to tip for the Grand Final, I'd be gessing it would be Collingwood v Brisbane....

Congrats to all 'Pies fans on a good win, and we'll see you at Kardinia Park in a fortnight's time. :)

Cheers,
William

1...You realise that if you put this in the AFL board you would be abused and tormented by anti-Collingwoodites.

2...Yes we played an OK 2nd half tonight but the first half was ordinary, we can play better.

3...Port would be my flag favourite right now.

4...We're playing you at the MCG.

Hey you_idiot.

No way, we are not heading for a Grand Final.
I don't want any of us getting ahead of our selves.

2003- all guns blazing.

Points well taken, Hoggy-- and my bad on #4, I must have been suffering from late-night fatigue. :(

As for #1, I dare the mods to move that thread there... I have that much conviction about what I've brought up here. ;)

I'm just basing this on what I've seen all season... and I've held off on posting this thread for a few weeks, actually...

Nick, you also raise a good point about cautious optimism-- but the 'Pies aren't the only team whose plans are going a year ahead of schedule, in my opinion...

Look at my team, the Cats, for instance... so many so-called experts had them tabbed for the wooden spoon, and not only is there no way that's going to occur, but a top-eight finish is indeed very likely by now.

We'll see what happens in two weeks at the 'G-- and for your team beyond that, as well...

I just thought I'd come into your team's forum to pay a nice compliment... and offer the courage of my convictions. :)

Cheers,
William

Thanks you-idiot, its nice to hear an oppostion fan say something positive for a change.

IMO Port Adelaide are the form side and deserve to be premiership favorites. I think for us our first aim needs to be to make the finals, then to win a final. Only then can we start to dream about premierships.

However if it does happen I will happily take it :)

the last 2-3 games the pies have played i have been extremely frustrated at times. We have not played quality 4 quarter football for a while now and we really need to put in 4 consistent top quality football before we can assess the stability of our form. Against the kangas we couldve lost it, if it wasn't for our 3rd term. Comparing the kangas and the pies, we shouldve won by 45+ (no disrespect to the kangas) but if all our players played at a consistent, respectful rate.. we shouldve won by 45+.

Well picked You Idiot. I think Sabre tipped this in round 22, but the laurel goes to the Geelongfellow for his prescience.

Thanks, Cyclops. I had even forgotten that I had this under the proper documentation.

So let the record show that I made this bold statement back on June 29...

Although it can be filed under the column where you can often find acorns and blind squirrels. ;)

Best of luck to the 'Pies tomorrow-- and may their fans have as much fun as possible. That's what it's all about...

Cheers,
William
