Todays effort by Peter Burgoyne would have to be close to one of the best i have ever seen by a Power player.
His game had it all, goals, runs, smothers, tackles, bumps, sheperds and a few possesions. His determination and the pressure he applied was second to none, backed up superbly by his little brother.
Cannot wait to see play like this on Grand Final day.

I'll wait to see Macca's review before I pass comment ;)

4- A.Kingsley
3- J.Schofield
2- S.Burgoyne
1- J.Francou
For mine, do you think the Doggies deserve a player in the top 5? i don't, i think the result flattered the Dogs, should have been more like 12 goals, Port let them get 4 or 5 easy goals in the last quarter as they took the foot off the pedal.

I actually thought Shaun played a better game than Peter, and he also kicked 6 as well, if it wasnt for clarence the crossed lion of a goal umpire, they would of both kicked 6.

I'd agree that Shaun appeared to play the better game.........and that kick definitely looked like a goal on the TV.......
Possible Rising Star nomination.........and to think he's only played 6 games.........
:D

Both were outstanding. If Shaun had bothered to play the first quarter and a half then he would probably have been BOG.
BTW from where i was sitting it looked like a point.
But the fact that Shaun played a game like that in only his sixth or seventh game
is truly awesome. He's going to be a total gun. *rubs hands gleefully*

I thought he played a dead set ripper!!!!!!
When he can play like that its dissapointing when he often doesnt play to that standard!!!
I really don't reckon that Peter played much different to usual...he just got more goals.

I was at the game and have never seen him so desperate to win the ball. To see him sprint 40m to the ball near the nth eastern boundary, overtaking 2 players and then beating 2 oponents, one with a hip & shoulder, keep the ball in (most would have let it go out), scoop it up and then deliver into the 50 was unbelievable.
On at least 3 occasions, he was able to take 2 opponents on in a 50-50 contest and get away with the ball.
I probably exagerated a little last week when i said it was "close" to one of the best games i have seen by a Power player, but it was definately up there.
I have seen him kick bags before, but it was his determination to win the ball that impressed me the most.
