Who do you want to replace Barry Hall as co-captain?

I just read over the question.. it doesn't make sense but you guys get the idea!

I believe we should have 1 Captain, thats Kirk, for obvious reasons. Never really liked the co captain thing anyway. It was good to give the leadership group a feel for taking on a bigger role within the team and club, but now its established, lets give the man who everyone knows is captain the sole job..

As with snappy I like the one captain idea and yep it should be Kirk.

However if we stick to the 3 captain formula I would have liked to see Barry step down as well and in a generational change move CB & Goodes taking up the vacancies (with ideally players such as O'Keefe & Malceski in the leadership group).

Now I'll finally answer the poll question and given the circumstances I would have thought it had to be Goodes.

Can you imagine the slap in the face if he wasn't selected? A 2 time Brownlow medallist, 200 games and arguably the most high profile Swan.

Can't say so better myself. To me, the three captain thing is gimmicky. Kirk by himself is inspirational enough.

But if they want to stick to the same formula, Leo should step down and C.Bolton and Goodes will be the best candidates to replace them. And it's definitely time to put Malceski into the leadership - definitely a future captain in my opinion.

kirk, on his own, should have the job, and nick malceski should be groomed to take over
leo barry should not be a co-captain because, well, as far as i'm concerned, he is not guaranteed a place in our best 22
yes, he surely WILL be in it, but his form at the end of 07 neither demanded a place or was worthy of a co-captain
malceski should and will be captain one day

Well said The Natural, well said. :thumbsu: Brought a tear to my eye.

As many of us here and possibly many other supporters out there never really liked the idea of 3 captains to begin with. Its going to be even harder for us to return to the one captain system seeing Paul Roos thinks this strategy is successful. Although I agree with him to a certain extent, I think Leo Barry shouldn't be part of the 3 co-captain system. Sure, we'll remember him for That Mark, but his on field performance at this point is questionable and the effect on his captaincy role.

I would love Kirk to be the sole captain for the Sydney Swans. Kirk is everything you want in a captain. His leadership, his on-field performances, his persistence, his dedication, his passion, his spirit and I could go on...

This is 100% correct

Captain Kirk
Co-Captains C Bolton & Goodes
Leadership group that includes O'Keefe and Malceski

Totally agree. I'm not a big fane of the three captain rotation. There should be one captain and that should be Kirk for now. Goodes to take over in a few years time.

Yep, that's the short and correct answer. One captain, and that man should be Kirk. I'm over this whole multi-pronged captain thing, it's lame and drives me nuts because it's not fair on Kirk.

Infact, i'm going to start a Kirk thread right now!
