About
Davis took his game to a new level in 2006, booting 23 goals in an outstanding 12 week-stretch to open the season after an injury-riddled 2005. Davis looked fitter than he had ever been before, and was prepared to work hard enough to be able to win the ball in the midfield and push forward where his skill and pace in front of goal helped the Magpies become the most potent attacking force in the competition. Booted four goals in the 102-point mauling of Geelong in round eight, and booted three goals on three other occasions. Unfortunately Davis only played three more games after round 12 due to injury. He was playing brilliantly against Hawthorn in round 17 before wretchedly breaking his ankle, which ended his season and really hurt Collingwood’s chances. A more mature player now with 115 games experience, Davis will again play a big part in the Magpies’ fortunes in 2007.

A quote from Strauchanie's book 'Bryan Strauchan: My Story' about Neon Leon.
"1. Leon Davis - Loyal. Extremely loyal. Decided to stay at the Pies even when his brother Nick left for Sydney. Must be bloody tense at their Christmas parties"

Round 1 Leon Davis Match Report:
Leon 'Neon' Davis had a fantastic start to the 2008 AFL Premiership season,he had 17 disposals including 13 kicks and 4 handballs, Davis also had 5 marks 3 tackles and 2 goals to his name by the end of the match, including a fantastic snap close to the boundary line to lift the crowd to their feet.
But it wasnt just the small forwards disposal that was a highlight he also applied fantastic pressure on the Fremantle backman when forward and on Fremantle's midfielders when playing around the ground.
Leon Davis also had 3 first to the ball possessions, 3 Inside50s, 3 Clearences and 6 long kicks.
Davis could have had a number of free kicks for holding the man, holding the ball etc. but he ended the day with just the 1 free kick for and 1 free against.

Round 3 Leon Davis Match Report:
Davis had an outstanding game, where the small forward collected 24 disposals which included an impressive 21 kicks and the three handballs. Davis also took 9 marks.
Davis kicked just the one goal and three behinds in an un-characteristic 5 minute burst of inaccurate kicking from the small forward, whose foot skills are usually superb.
He applied good pressure around the ground and inside collingwoods forward 50, he laid 5 tackles, he had 4 running bounces, 2inside50's, 2rebound50's and 4 clearences.
Also he had 2 1%'s and a couple of first to the ball disposals.
Once again for the third consecutive week Davis had an outstanding game.
Davis also racked up his personal career highest tally of disposals, kicks, marks and running bounces, so a fantastic effort from Leon Davis who is establishing himself as one of the premier small forwards in the game by improving every week and having consistency.

Round 4 Leon Davis Match Report:
Lets be honest the small forward had a dirty game with just 7 disposals (6 kicks 1 handball). although he did seem to spark the match midway through the last quarter with 2 goals in 2-3 minutes and he looked like he was going to win the game for Collingwood off his own boot but then he was taken off:confused: but apart from that he had a day to forget, although he did still apply good pressure laying 4 tackles.
hope to see better form next week Leon.

Round 5 Leon Davis Match Report:
Leon Davis bounced back after a dismal performance against arch rivals Carlton, Davis was one of Collingwood's best.
The Small forward had 18 disposals including 14 kicks and 4 handballs.
Davis was also back to his best with his disposal, it was magnificent, he wasnt just getting the ball though he was applying pressure which was proven with 5 tackles, he also produced 2 classy goals.
Davis had 5 clearences aswell as 7 inside 50's and 5 1%'s which was good to see he was doing the team things aswell.
In his 18 disposals he almost had a 100% efficiancy rate, he made just 2 errors.
So a fantastic run back into form for the Collingwood small forward.
Lets hope he can continue next week in the big ANZAC day clash at the MCG between Collingwood and Essendon

Leon Davis round 9 Match report:
Leon was injured early in the first quarter, but came back on, it was clear that he was no where near 100%.
But he still had a presence and battled it out for the team laying three tackles even though he was injured.
He collected nine disposals, which included eight kicks and one handball. he also booted a couple of goals and managed to get the ball inside 50 a couple of times as well.
So a good game from Leon playing out the game at about 50-60 percent fit.
He is alright for next week.

Leon Davis Match Report Round 11:
The little "Igniter" in his 150th AFL appearance, had a bit of a quiet one, but still managed to kick 2 crucial goals, which included his weekly miracle goal from the boundary.
Davis had 11 Disposals which included nine kicks and two handballs.
He wasn't his usual self, his disposal was scrappy at just 55% efficiency, disappointing but he stood up when it mattered when he popped out of no-where and kicked to fantastic goals just when the team needed it.
He also had five one percenters, three tackles and three running bounces.
Davis is still yet to go goalless in a game this year, the same goes with his little partner in crime Paul Medhurst who is enjoying arguably the finest season of his career thus far. The two of them (Davis & Medhurst) have contributed 50 goals for the season (Davis 21, Medhurst 29).
So congratulations to Leon for his 150th game, ecstatic that the team could manage a win for you.
Congrats again..
