I like this pick.

Calder people will tell you he's Darren Milburn (another ex-Cannon) all over again at 18 years old. Tweener size (filled in some key positions at TAC level, but will be a tall flanker option if he makes it at AFL), but extremely versatile, hard at the man and the pill, reads the play well, and has clean skills.

Did some nice defensive jobs on Lachie Hansen and Jarryd Allen at last years championships as a bottom-aged player, and turned the tables this season to become a legit marking option up forward for the Cannons and Vic Metro.

From Inside Football:

"Jeremy is probably our most improved player this year. He's a terrific left foot kick, can play anywhere from full back to full forward to the wing or ruck rover. He has got great hands and a great attitude to his footy. Whoever gets Jeremy will be getting a pretty fair player." - Calder Cannons Coach David Flood

Is there any suggestion as to why he fell this far, given how good he's supposed to be?

Jack of all trades, master of none.

His tweener size and lack of genuine pace probably hurt him too.
