This guy is such a nice bloke. Was a champ at school and does well on the field. Good luck with him.

Wish you all the best for the future mate:):thumbsu:

School Captain wasn't he? Remember reading an article that Judd was the school captain of the same school.

Good to add another kid at the club with a good head on his shoulder.

Sandilands strikes me as a Tom Murphy clone of sorts.

Not a school captain, but captain of the Firsts team. Same with Judd.

Best of luck to Hugh at Hawthorn - same legal class together :thumbsu:

Don't want to be a Johnny Raincloud, but in a very weak year, Hugh was drafted at the equivalent of about 95th.

That's not normally the place to draft "great" players.

Have you had a look at how many champs are rookie selections. The list is too long and prestigious to call. We can never ever underestimate rookie picks (our B&F winner this year was one;), Dean Cox isn't bad either)

The rookie list gives recruiters a lot of pride and red faces.

Come on, it's a lot easier to pick out two or three that have made it rather than the hundreds that haven't.

We've done better than most at turning our rookies into AFL players e.g. Sewell, Gilham, McGlynn and Campbell (from memory). However, Thurgood and Ben Kane have done more as a rookie listed player at our club than most others and they're a long way from becoming "greats".
