View Full Version : N.A.B Cup 2008
Are you of the opinion that we should go for it this year??
Blood a heap of youngsters or play a solid experienced team??
I personally would love to see us win one as it would give the youngsters and the club a bit of confidence after such a rough year.
Thoughts??
P.S. If we cant win it in 2008 I would really LOVE to beat Freo in the first NAB game, its been a while :p
Freo will kick our arse, again.
They have too much to play for whereas we have new kids runnng around.
But you never know do you? :D

Ha Ha Ha - I guess it is one of their 3 Grand Finals each year isnt it. Poor guys, they really do SUCK.

I'd rather we blood a heap of youngsters and see how they go. Couldnt give a toss about winning it unless we're aiming for the double and that extra $1 million dollars :)

I reckon they may go for it, try and really pump the boys up for a big season
i really couldnt care. i almost hope we dont win it, its sorta embarrasing in a way.
rest the gun players: cox, glass, kerr, embley, hunter etc
i just wanna see what some players like masten, ebert, spangher, mckinley can show.
it'd be alright to beat freo but at the end of the day i couldnt really give a shit.
i'd rather win 1 home and away game then infinite preseason games.
Masten would be doubtful for the NAB cup. Ebert could well play a role.
Go for youth.
Does the NAB cub derby usually sell out?

hahaah.
We never attack the pre-season and rightly so. We do not need to build confidence in our younger players by winning a meaningless cup.
Blood the youngsters.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Definitely play the youngsters. I have renewed enthusiasm for 2008 after the drafts and can't wait to see what the young'ns can do.

Would love to see Kennedy sitting in the square with ebert beside him and an open 50 arch to play with.
I would also like cones to get a decent go as i thought he showed real promise last year. If he didnt hit the post soooo many times he may have had a longer run in the 1's.

Play the youngsters and "newbies" (such as Kennedy). I would love to see MacKenzie, Spangher,McKinley,Schofield, Houlihan etc get games in the preseason cup !

Play a balanced side. A 100 point thrashing in the NAB cup courtesy of too many youngsters won't do anything for the sides confidence or development. Nor will we see what the youngsters can actually do if they're being ripped apart.

We shouldn't change our strategy for the NAB Cup. Give the youngsters a taste of it, show them how much more work they need to do to get to AFL standard.
Give Hansen 1 - 2 games only and yes I'd really like to see C Jones and Kennedy play deep forward and give Lynch a run at CHF. Have a balanced side, play only one of Seaby and Cox and trial Graham and say Kennedy as the second ruck in the event we need them later in that possie.
If Staker is going to play mid, get him in there and basically get our midfield time to gel post Cuz and Judd.
Give Glass and Cox a bit of a rest, Glass played every game last year.
