If you watch the bullants put these dates i your diaries
SAT Apr 12- antz versus collingwod-2.00 - MC LABOUR
SAT Apr 19- antz versus tazzie-2.00- MC LABOUR
SUN Apr 27 - antz versus weribee-2.00 MC LABOUR
SAT Jun 7- antz versus Willi-2.00 MC LABOUR
SUN Jun 15- ANTZ VERSUS COLLINGWOOD- 10.40- MCG- Curtain Raiser to Blues pies match. BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!
Sun Aug 03- antz versus SAndy-2.00- MC LABOUR
The good hting about these matches is that Carlton is either playing the day before orthe day after. I think theres 3 on the same day the whole seaon. 2 of witch are 2.00 games and blues play at 7.00 ish
ANTZ also play 5 games at other home gorund NAB OVAL
try get out to watch the young guns play at MC labour!

Pretty disappointed Carlton aren't fielding a reserves team next year, that would of been great.
Oh well, I'm sure the people in charge no more than I do, and I trust their judgement.

There was some talk that Carlton would in fact field their own reserves team in 2008. Perhaps that is something that might happen in the next couple of years when we have cleared our debt, as I am pretty certain that I heard it saves us approx $200,000 a year by aligning ourselves with the Bullants.

I think that all the necessary changes at the Bullants have already been made as far as development of our younger players is concerned (Teague & Lappin etc).
So now having our own reserves team would really only provide cosmetic improvement (watching them run around in navy blue).
I think Carlton have struck a deal where they'll wear the old dark navy in the games they play at MC Labour Park.
Not 100% sure on that.

The other side of the coin is the impact to the Bullants once we leave. I'm pretty sure that was a major factor. We changed the deal to play half our games outta MC Labour, and have greater control of team selection and development. I think that was all it came down to, we needed more control and they needed us, so a deal was done. We loose the jumper but save the money!

The mood amongst the Ant's boys is good this year, most of the boys are really young aged mainly between 18-23. I know alot of planning and development has gone into making sure the Blues and Ants play similar this year and have a strong bond between each other. Alot of functions and gatherings will be organised to develop the relationship more.

Do the non-AFL listed Bullants players ever get to train with the Carlton players they line up alongside each weekend?

I was talking with teague the other night and he indicated that was the gorup was cut down to 50odd @ the Ants we would train with Carlton once a fortnight! Whether it was skills or running, but Yes! Most the boys see each other @ CQ on a sat night, or see each other aorund somewhere! Next Thursday is a combined night together for a christmas do!
