I guess the AFL have given up promoting the Kangaroos on the GC. This is clearly indicative of the fact that the Roos won't relocate. Survive or die in Melbourne I guess.

AFL CHIEF broadcasting and commercial officer Gillon McLachlan on Wednesday announced the league has altered the round one fixture for the 2008 NAB Cup competition.
Under the revised fixture, two first-round matches would change with Brisbane Lions now to meet Essendon at Carrara on Saturday, February 16 and Western Bulldogs to play the Kangaroos in Darwin on Friday, February 15.
The six other matches remain unchanged.
McLachlan said this change had been made to enable the AFL to include a greater number of AFL teams in its matches on the Gold Coast during the 2008 season.
"This change enables the AFL to expose another team with a significant supporter base and appeal, in Essendon, to the rapidly growing regions in northern NSW and southern Queensland through the Gold Coast area," McLachlan said.
"The Community Camp, which is run by our game development department, will provide the perfect promotional lead-in for the match in the week leading up to the start of the NAB Cup, and the match itself should be of great interest with Essendon to meet the Brisbane Lions."
As part of the changes for the NAB Cup, this will also alter the Telstra AFL Community Camp locations for Essendon and the Kangaroos.
Essendon now heads to the Northern Rivers (NSW) and Gold Coast (Qld) region from Monday, February 4 – Thursday, February 7 as a promotional lead-in to the round one NAB Cup match, while the Kangaroos now have their camp in East Gippsland as a straight swap.
The Telstra AFL Community Camp program is now in its sixth year and continues to grow.
Since the first camps in 2003:
1882 primary and secondary schools visited
421,668 students reached during school visits
40,103 children attended AFL Auskick Superclinics
15,357 people visited in hospitals and aged care facilities
13,770 people attended official functions in all areas
15,202 people attended community football forums
Official club functions raised over $264,000 for junior football/community
