Cooney Has the potential to be the complete player, Brownlow medalist ect.
Goddard has the potential to be the 3/4th best utility in the game... hes got all the tools, but ild take Cooney over Goddard, Cooney's only problem is consistancy
Oh tough one, both are pretty average No.1 picks.
I would say that Cooney has more of an X-Factor and could win a game off his own boot, whereas Goddard is just an average rangy Flanker/Wingman, nothing too special, needs to find a proper position and stick to it though, and coming off a knee won't help his cause.

Cooney's game against us this year was amazing considering all he had been through. I like him a lot but id rather have Goddard.

Cooney any day. Genuine midfielder over the back flaker, although Goddard is a great kick.

depends on the team, Goddard is a real luxury to a team
like with Mackie at the Cats, specialized designated kicker from half back that with the right team can be an awesome asset.
I'm sure west coast thought the same thing when deciding on Masten vs Morton at pick 3

Well take your and bat and ball and cry about it for a while. Why start a thread if you don't care about people opinions. Goddard has only had two good years. If you remember during the 05 season he was bordering useless. Last season Thomas played him loose downback where he could get the ball, as has Ross lyon. A number 1 draft pick shouldn't be playing loose man in the backline to get his kicks.

His first year was his only sh1t year. He finished well though. Goddard was struggling to get a game in 04-05 at times. His first year was better than Cooneys first year but that is all(Really rated Goddard back then). Clubs will always take an onballer over a Loose player in the backline which is all he really does well.
Anyway, what are you doing reading peoples thoughts on this poll you started when you stated yuou don't care??

The whole school holiday line is so over used on BF. Seriously, it isn't even that funny, and it's used all the time.

Maybe Sainter08 should have done Goodard vs the one-legged kid playing in the under-13s Bendigo blind footy league if he was feeling insecure and needed a boost in life with a BigFooty poll win.
