Anyone rate this show... dark comedy at its finest IMO. A show that is similar to the kind of comedy in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development but probably darker and more contrevsial subject matter...

I've only seen a couple of episodes but the trannie one last week and the gun one this week were both golden:thumbsu:

What does everyone else think of this show?

Really like this show. I've watched 30 rock before it and it really contrasts how structured and scripted each is, 30 rock is like a playbook, Sunny is fly on the wall type of humour that doesnt have punch lines etc...

I really rate it, its a mix of Curb your enthusiasm and Extras if i had to compare. With some Seinfeld thrown in.

Probably my favourite show on TV at the moment, have seen a few of the later season episodes and they don't lose their quality at all. Hopefully seven keep it on the air, because I'll be looking forward to seeing DeVito in it.

Definitely rate it and 30 Rock - shame that Ch 7 have them both on from 10:30pm. Last night was probably the best evaluation I gave to both (less alcohol in the system LOL) and I reckon that Philadelphia edges 30 Rock.

Another great episode last night. I missed the first episode but I have seen the rest and I think it is brillant show.

The 3 male characters are all funny and Mac the guy with the beard is one of the best characters on TV. Poking the dead guy with the pool stick and saying "That bitch is dead" and then trying to pick up the dead man's granddaughter. In other episodes he has pretended to be a pro-life activist to meet women, dated a pre-op tranny ( "I'm putting the work in now so I am first one in after the operation") and encouraged high school kids to drink in his pub and then said he was going Stag to their prom.

LOL, yeah Mac is my favourite character. Other people rate Charlie higher, but not me.

I think the show is on the verge of brilliant. It has a great style and humour, but not quite as LOL as curb your enthusiasm.

But its only early on, although I've read on IMDB people say the 2nd season with Danny Devito isnt as good.

I've seen a few eps from future seasons and I can tell you it is at a very similar quality :thumbsu:.

I see not much has changed in almost three years. Although the digital channels may have alleviated the matter a little.
