Cheesh.
I don't think I like any songs that have come out in the last month! Can I say what my favourites have been in that period?
5. New Race - Radio Birdman
4. Marquee Moon - Television
3. TV Eye - The Stooges
2. Holidays in the Sun - Sex Pistols
1. Mother - Goldie
A few oldies there...but I'm a bit sick of pap/pop. No offence Vanders, ya know I love Kyles, but I don't think I'd actually go out of my way to hear much of her last album. Not that it's bad, just a bit overplayed.

Hey Shinners, have you heard the Jeff Buckley version of I know it's over? It's on the Mysterious White Boy live album (he does Halleluja with a bit of I Know thrown in). I like it. Nice.
Also: Do you like Badly Drawn Boy? I'm starting to.

No, I haven't heard it. I'm not that much of a Jeff Buckley fan, but it would be interesting to hear his take on "I Know It's Over". I might have to pop into a record shop and use the listening station.
"Oh mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head" - I can't think of a more depressing opening line to a song.
Also: Do you like Badly Drawn Boy? I'm starting to.
I've got "Hour of the Bewilderbeast" but I got sick of it pretty quickly. I've been told that his new song that's on the soundtrack to "About A Boy" is meant to be very good, but I haven't heard it yet. I guess you can say that I'm still to be convinced.
lately i've been listening to:
1. deftones - digital bath
2. and you will know us by the trail of dead - another morning stoner
3. the vines - get free
4. the hives - hate to say I told you so
5. grinspoon - lost control
Haven't been listening to any radio tv last month.
From what I know that has been released here and abroad:
Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out - One of their best songs.
Elvis - A little less conversation - The original is better still, catchy!
Sophie Ellis Bextor - Get Over You :( It's so damn ****ing catchy! and she's a glam!

The Eastern Dark could have been one of the greatest bands ever, if not for the tragic car accident which killed James Darroch. Still close to my favourite Australian band of all time.
Girl on Heaven Hill would rank as my fave Husker Du song.
My top 5 at the moment:
Ramones-Road to Ruin reissue
Blue Oyster Cult-Secret Treaties reissue
Louis Tillet-Cry against the Faith
Minuteman-Voodoo Slaves (my pre-match psych-up song)
The Who-Live at Leeds (RIP John Entwhistle)

hey i hear ya!! the only reason that Love At First Sigh is in there is because of the remix, and even thats being way overplayed, not that i mind though, it takes me a while to get sick of Kylie songs.
As for whenever you feel like it, its only just started getting air-tiem because its not actually on her album, its on the Scooby Doo soundtrack, apparently it didnt make the cut for 'Fever'.

Nah unlike you rudie boys, Im lookin in the insert, yea fabrizio is the drummer, and a mighty fine lookin one aswell, why he is going out with *band aid* drew barrymore mystifies me.
The scarey thing is, everyone thinks we look alike :( its the hair, does that mean Im secretly lookin for boys who look similar to me cause I'm in love with myself? Or is it maybe cause he has big wookish hair aswell, and if he likes it himself, he might like his girls that way too :)

Last month, This month, Next month ... Husker Du and The Eastern Dark will always be two of the greatest bands ...
Rusty, have you ever heard the Husker Du cover of the Byrds "Eight Miles High". If not, download it somehow on Xolox, or whatever you use. One of the greatest covers EVER done ...
BTW ... is that new Louis Tillet material ? And it's so hard to get hold of Wet Taxis stuff nowadays... as you'd expect I guess
I don't listen to songs individually, so much as I listen to CDs whole. Here's the top 5 for recent weeks :
Uli Jon Roth - Earthquake (also on 12-hour repeat in my head while I'm at work)
Scorpions - In Trance
Scorpions - Fly To The Rainbow
MANOWAR - Warriors Of The World (recent release)
Savatage - Japan Live '94 (just starting to get into this after buying it recently)
The more things change, the more they stay the same...

I have heard Husker Du's version of Eight Miles High. I loved the Byrds version (a big fan of the early Byrds stuff) but Husker Du's is every bit as good as the orginal.
The Louis Tillet CD is from about two years ago. He really is an underground rock legend. Did you happen to see the documentary on him which was shown on the ABC last year? He is a really interesting person albeit one with some serious problems. He is a chronic depressive: his family have to watch him all of the time because they are afraid he may one day take his own life. The Wet Taxis were a great band but he also played piano on recordings by the Celibate Rifles and the New Christs which is where I first heard Louis. His solo stuff is fantastic: incredibly moody and dark but still rocking in its own way. One of the most surreal things I have ever seen is Louis Tillet and Charlie Owen playing at one of the early Meredith Music Festivals. It was ****ing down with rain: with this eerie piano music floating through the bush adding to the ambience, it was one of the most unsettling but enjoyable music experiences I have ever had.

Have always loved Tillet's work Rusty. Have a couple of his albums - Cast of Aspersions, and a another very melancholic one which slips my mind at the minute. It doesn't surprise me in the least that he's a depressive ... though I've always loved his live shows. And Charlie Owens is another favorite of mine ... his work on the Christ's distemper album is phenomenal.
See you at Meredith this year ...
