Obviously ball tampering is considered to be playing within the
spirit of the game" :)
Did the match ref get an explanation?

I was just guessing that the match ref would be asking for an explination. I wonder how the ICC will manage to find way to take no action for this

I remember Rahul Dravid was caught ball tampering (I think with the use of a cough lolly) last tour... but nothing came of it.

Anil Kumble: "Only one team was playing in the spirit of the game"
Maybe Anil was suggesting that one team was the aussies????

Laxman taking something off a team member, Could be anything
Geez what was that all about?
Could be fairly innocent I guess

Still there.
Shows one of the Indian reserves going around the back of the Indian Huddle and handing laxman something (very suspiciously, they couldn't have made it look worse). Laxman quickly pockets it.
Shows nothing else but it's quite interesting. Wasim has been giving them tips, maybe gave them a bottle cap.
Cheats, call the game off.

Video still working for me....
One of the indians from the dressing room walks over to the huddle, before the start of Australias innings, passes something to VVS Laxman in a very shady manor...

Or he could just have a sniffle, lets wait before calling them cheats eh?

yeah might have been an Ipod for between overs!!!

Looked like there was a deal going down.
Imagine convicting them based on that
yeah might have been an Ipod for between overs!!!
Could be... who knows. They were not caught red handed as that is actually tampering the ball, where is your evidence of that then? Did the ball reverse much?
Or he could just have a sniffle, lets wait before calling them cheats eh?
If you saw 2 people doing that on the streets you would say "drugs"
I'm not calling them cheats but they couldn't have done it more suspiciously, back to the camera, the close handed pass that was was concealed. Quickly pockets it.
Stop presuming you English pricks, I am just saying if they have nothing to hide they did it the most suspicious manner.

Yeah that does look suspicious.
Wonder if we'll hear anymore of it.

They have absolutely nothing to charge them on unless they have footage of him applying something to the ball.
That video showed nothing. Looked suspicious but could have been gum for all we know.

doesn't have to reverse!!!
How about some kind of polish to keep the shine extra shiney
Just looked very dodgy! if it was something innocent it wouldn't have been handed over in that way

Why? The Indian cricket team and their media have accused the Aussies of just about every crime known to mankind, why should we care if the Indians cop a little of it back?

Nothing much to see there. Unless they're caught doing something to the ball, nothing can come of it
Could be secretly passing him viagra for all we know

No. It wasn't Australian players who did it.

Are you taking the piss?
Seriously, that showed nothing.
A guy handed something to Laxman after the huddle broke up, so what.
If they wanted to hide something in their pockets why not put in here before they go out on the field.

No need for personal insults YOTC, all i'm saying is there is no evidence to say they were ball tampering at all.... they were not caught red handed like the OP said.
Someone said they had lessons of Wasim, condemning them again, if there had been something suspicous the umpires would be looking at the ball, this is something the cameras pick up, having something in your pocket is no proof at all.
PS.I'm speaking totally as a neutral here, favouring neither side.

Without trying to side with any one side over the controversy for the past week, it seems that this board is trying to use anything as a stick to beat India with
While we also accuse them of doing the same, yet we do the same to them
Aus supporters should be bigger than that

it only looks shady because of the heading, we are looking at it with the pre-concieved idea that it is shady.
Could be dodgy, could be innocent, but i dont think officially anyone will be jumping to conclusions

The sole reason behind tampering with the ball is getting it to do something expected, swinging the new ball is a natural occurrence (Except Mitchell Johnson)

ohhhh dear
Under Law 42, subsection 3 of the Laws of Cricket, the ball may be polished without the use of an artificial substance

Okay first of all you presumed i called them cheaters. Nothing of the sort. I just said the item they had nothing to hide about they did a damn fine job hiding it. That is all. I called you an English Prick because you basically accused me of accusing them (which is hypocrisy my dear Watson :))
Yes Wasim gave advice to Pathan (maybe the others), I mentioned that. They have been swinging the ball. Wasim was a legend who was always suspected of ball tampering. It was actually a joke about Wasim than it was condemning the Indian players.

I questioned the OP's "Red handed" really.

Wow, talk about making something out of nothing, it happens all the time, often players get handed pills, lollies etc by the 12th man or physio or whoever and they dont do it obviously, they do it behind their back
Try sitting on the boundary near fine leg for a day and see how many things get handed out
Just like the rubbish about the mints, the Ashes DVD showed the Aussies having the same ones  The teams were sharing them for gods sake

Until you have evidence of them actually applying anything at all to the ball, then that law and what was shown on the video are two unrelated facts

What? Who was that? Where are you? :p

And yet quoted mine.
It probably is nothing because there would be better ways of hiding it. It's still a very funny way to hand over say some chewies.
India finding swing was more to do with the bowling. They had a much better seam posistion than the Australians and they were getting much more revolutions out of the hand. Australia try too hard to get swing.

It seems like nothing, and theres no evidence.
But why did he give it to him so suspiciously? Not saying its even for ball tampering, could be for god knows what...but it looks sus you have to admit?
Oh. My. Gosh.
Someone hands something to Laxman. He puts it in his pocket in an admittedly shifty manner.
This somehow means the Indian Cricket Team is ball tampering despite no video evidence to suggest anything of the sort?
This thread is closed but will be re-opened if anything comes to light of the matter.
