Anyone rate him?
He is improving every game and is only 22 or 23. I rate him very highly and think he will one day be the best batsmen in the world. Alos a great fielder and handy with the gloves.
His recent form is very good, playing a great series against W Indies. Looking forward to seeing how he goes against the Aussies because i feel he will be good on the bouncy wickets like the WACA

He's going to be an absoloute gun. All that experience is going to count for something. Imagine when he starts to peak.

Seems like a good kid too.

Nothing special, average of 37...struggles badly against good opposition and only has had scores so far against West Indies.

still not as good as fannie de villiers, who was not only better but had a way better name.

Quite average atm. A bit of a religious freak too.

Some pretty stupid comments here. When you say he is "pretty average" or "nothing special" do you realise that he is only 23 or that he is shuffled around anywhere from opening to 7 or that he is sometimes forced to keep or that as a 21 year old he was easily SA best player of Warne in Australia. Don't you think it speaks volumes of the lad that he has already played 35 test before his 24th birthday and is yey to record a single test duck.

23 or not...he's done nothing and if you take off his performances against the Windies/Zimbabwe his average is embarrassing.

Yeah right he's done nothing. Especially if you ignore the 52, 92 and 109 he scored against England in 2005 when they were the best team going around. Or his back to back centuries against the West Indies. Or his 4 half centuris against australia when they were smashed the whole series. Or his 4 90's to go along with his 4 100's in his first 35 tests.
And when you to take out his runs against Windies/Zimbabwe, do the same with Michael Clarke. Take out his runs against Bangladesh/west Indies/Sri Lanka and he only average 32. Hell, do the same to Mike Hussey and his average drops by 20.

Sri Lanka isn't bad though. He failed again last night when opening. He and muppet surely have the worst techniques ever as openers. He is inconsistent but has done some good things and is a gun fielder. Would struggle to ever play for Australia if he lived here.

Actually, we'd all be lauding his performances in domestic cricket much like we are with Luke Pomerbach currently. AB has been exposed to international cricket early due to the lack of batting talent in SA.

For anyone to call him 'average' or question his talent clearly shows their lack of knowledge when it comes to world cricket.

To call him average is not to question his talent but by international standards his average is average.
