Adam Gilchrist has pulled up stumps on his career! What a sad day for Australian cricket.
He's been one of a kind to watch and will be sorely missed. Up step Brad Haddin!
definately big news
bit earlier than expected but congrats to him not coz he is such a great cricketer but also coz he is a blues supporter!!

Holy Crap, you're not serious!
Fudge Me!
He'll still play in the Twenty20 and ODI tri-series, then retire for good

Shattered to hear this. There is nobody better in world cricket at full flight then this bloke. And what makes him a genuine superstar is the way he handles himself off the field. True Aussie, and an even bigger family man.
Thanks for the good times Gilly (especially that 102 against England at Perth last Ashes)!!

Legend but at least the man went out on a high and with dignity intact ...
I think it's not a day to be sad, but a day of joy, to celebrate his wonderful career and his status as one of our all time great cricketers (certainly the greatest one day player Australia has ever produced)
So sad to hear, he was by far the most lovable guy on the team:).
Maybe he will persue that commentary career:D.

Fantastic cricketer - quite a few stars retiring in these past couple years.
