View Full Version : Heathen Chemistry
Anybody got it and had a listen right through. Only had the chance to listen to it fully a few times but it seems to be there best work in years.
Couple of tracks that sttod out were (Probably)All In The Mind, Little By Little, She Is Love, Born on a Different Cloud and of course Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
But the song that really caught my attention was Songbird, written by Liam Gallagher, its a very good song, only 2 minutes long too but as soon as it starts you would swear it's a John Lennon song.
Liam's writing is really coming along.
Anybody had the chance to listen to it? Thoughts?

Only had one crack so far. The second song was pathetic, skipped that after a minute. Gem's song not much better. Loved the instrumental, pity that wasn't made into a song, great sound. All three of Liam's songs have something in them, quite an accomplishment after Little James. Little By Little is the early standout.
About 10 times since I got it.
Hindu Times - 7/10
Force of Nature 6/10
Hung in a Bad Place - 6/10
Stop Crying your Heart out - 9/10 (Next single in Aus. Easy to see why.)
Songbird - 7/10
Little By Little - 5/10 (Rumoured to be realesed as the next single, which is a shame. Cuase it's average. 'Songbird' will also appear, so it'll be a double a side. It which includes a studio version of The Who's My Generation as a B- Side)
A Quick Peep - 7/10
(Probably) All in the Mind - 3/10
She is Love - 7.5/10 (Should be the next single released.)
Born on a Different Cloud - 6.5/10
Better Man - 7/10
The secret track at the end is ok. Could be abit more funkier, like a quick peep.
Overall, better than SOTSOG and Be Here Now.
Liams 2 songs are great. Shame Andy couldn't get a longer song on there. By all reports his a top guitarist. Gem's could have been abit heavier I thought as well.

I've had about 10 listens as well. Really like it.
I agree with the second track being a bit ordinary but apart from that it rocks. She Is Love is great. On the interview CD, Noel explans how he never used to like using "love" in a song and now seeing he's 35 and middle-aged he can do whatever he likes!
Another thing I like about the album is the songs don't carry on, like on Be Here Now.
Although they were more 'coke' induced epics.

I liked most of the songs on Be Here Now, but yeah, All Around The World was pretty self-indulgent!!
