Ok with roy and punter dropping the charges against harbajhan singh an India member of heirarchy, not sure who exactly, has come out and said that roy and punter should be banned by the ICC for lying! Maybe this blokes right. They lied to get Singh out of trouble, lied so the tour would continue, lied to keep the Indians all happy, they even lost so the Indians would be happy :D, and they lied so cricket wouldnt fall into even more disrepute over roy being called a monkey.
Liars, ban them! NOT

I just can't believe "monkey" can be charged as 'obscene language'. - It isn't a bloody swear word! It's either racist or it's not. Logic aside though, clearly this is just an each-way decision. Those powder-puffs in the ICC are a joke. They let India threaten their way out of this! :thumbsd:

Not sure how they brand Ponting a liar in this. His only involvement was to report to the umpires that one of his players was claiming to have been racially abused. Where is the lie in that?

From what I can gather he Harjhaban never claimed to have said monkey but maa-ki (something like that) which means mother f.... in his native tongue, hence the reason he was charged with obscene language.
Given it was always one persons word against another, it was always gonna be difficult to find him guilty because there was no 'proof' that he did say 'monkey'.
As for charging Ponting with lying, that is a joke... they should be happy with the outcome they got and leave it at that...

If anyone, it should be Hayden that should be dropped. As he heard it. During the video he goes "You've got a witness mate" "It's racial vilification mate" "It's a shit word and you know it".
