2008 Blues Buddy Draft

Seeing as Jeremias is away, I thought i'd greedyishly take matters into my own hands and compile a quick random list of people from this forum, equalling to the ammount of Carlton players available.

Please keep in mind I have no idea what i'm doing (hows that for confidence?:p).

Keep in mind, these names have been picked at random, and the order of those listed below IS NOT THE FINAL LIST. How I plan on doing this is that if there are people in here that don't want to be involved, or people who havn't been involved who want to get in, then I need to receive a PM before 8:00pm on Friday (1/2/08), the time the final posters list is posted and when the draft will start.

If a poster doesn't elect a player within 24 hours of the previous posters election, then they will be skipped and will be able to make up their pick at the end of the draft.

As an amazingly adept (how's that alliteration) previous Buddier, blues4flag trusts that his name will automatically be included, with a top 5 position in the drafting order, preferably by EBIAC applying a Jerimias style "random" order.

2008 Blues Buddy Draft Official List.

The list hasn't changed much from the original one, in which I typed basically the first guys I saw. I have moved a couple of people and added a few (mainly including ODN, who gave up his spot, team player!).

The main thing I must add is that due to the ammount of people wishing to partake, a few missed out (sorry!), but in order for me to get just one more person in the list, I added my own little twist to this years draft...

I have no idea if I can do this, but I thought I throw the name 'Brett Ratten' into the pool. The guy/girl who ends up being his buddy follows his coaching progress and things alike. May be a bit of a silly idea, but in order for me not to cut anyone, in which I really don't wanna do (:)), I had to add him:D.

This list is final, and to clear the record, I didn't order it in any sort of poster preference.

I'm very happy with my position! However it does seem that it is not totally random. If people are unhappy it would be easy to allocate a number to each of the potential buddy drafters and put that through an online random number generator.

I think the list randomizer is the way to go. If somebody isn't happy with the one Dima did for some reason, then we do one more randomizer, and make that list final. If everybody is happy with the way Dima's list was conducted then lets go with that then. It seems fair to me

Yeah and probably the other problem is working out where you would draw the line in such a scenario which could cause some animosity.

I would imagine that it would be pretty simple to differentiate between the frequent and the not so frequent posters.

The point is that doing so represents something which we don't really want to encourage on the Carlton board and so it shouldn't be used.
