View Full Version : Predicitions for RSA exhibition match against Tankdon??

Not a overly important match in the scope of things for both clubs, perhaps with the exception of the forging of business and sponsorship ties it seems for Fremantle, which is always good for the Purple Horde.
It is good to see the AFL and clubs help promote the growing popularity of the code of Australian Rules in the RSA. Can only benefit Australian Rules in the long run.
So, do you think this is just a training run, or can our lads get something out of this match, especially the younger guys?
Care to predict a winner?

If they play Judd (he's over there), then he might be the difference. If his weagle conditioning hasn't been totally purged, then he might still see us as the enemy, and try to prove (in Joshie's absence) that he really did deserve that medal. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) :D ;)

Like you said - the result really is immaterial aside from the new sponsors probably wanting to see that their dollars have been well spent... and of course from a supporters point of view, I want to see us win every game, every time we play!

I reckon we'll see some of the youngster's having a red-hot crack, as Harvey has said that a good performance in this game will go a long way to getting a gig for the opening NAB Cup game for some of the young blokes.

What I'd like to see is Rhys Palmer pick up 20+ possessions and kick a couple; Clayton Hinkley collect 20 and burn up the paddock; Murph take 10 marks and kick 5; Jeffrey get some confidence by wowing the crowd with his wizardry; Ibbo get BOG seeing Foster didn't go... who else is over there??? ;)

And Freo win comfortably by about 3-4 goals. :thumbsu:

If Sandilands can tap to advantage, and our midfielders show ability to win contested possession i don't care what happens on the scoreboard. We are missing our most important forward in Pavlich and our most important defender in McPharlin.

On such a tiny ground it'll be long kicks into the forwardline with pack marks winning the contest. Our doubt we'll be able to showcase our fitness on such a small ground.

I reckon Freo will win by 2-3 goals and it'll be good to see our youngsters get the chance to shine

Can the players get suspended if they transgress during this game?

You'd be spewing if one of your players got rubbed out.

Serious question.

Pretty sure they can. Didn't the AFL look into the London derby a couple of years ago but were unable to charge anyone due to the fact there was only one camera at the ground. I doubt the tribunal panel will go over the game like a regular match but if there is a melee the tape will be looked at.

At least we're playing a club who won't start crying if we play too rough this time.

If Kepler Bradley is playing, Carlton are home... if not, Freo by a couple of goals

And yes, like everyone else... it took me about 45 minutes to read Nightfury's post. That vision is now firmly implanted in the brain!

That Kepler comment is a bit childish and naive.

The dual I'm most interested in is your #1 draft pick vs big Sandilands.

I'd imagine we'd rotate Cloke and Hampson in the ruck, perhaps play Kreuzer forward. Bit of an ask in his first game against one of the better ruckmen in the comp...

I'm looking forward to seeing Palmer, just got a feeling he could be the best player to come out of the draft.

The last time Carlton beat us was in 2001. And we all know how good that year was for us.

Expect the winning streak to extend to double figures.

I'm pretty sure Judd,Fev,Stevens all aren't playing, no chance in hell you will see Kreuzer ruck if it's against Sandilands thats if he plays at all

I think rocca got suspended for hitting sandilands in a london game.

I could be wrong though.

Sandilands to dominate the first half and be removed for the second half. He will have kicked 2 goals and we will be dominating. Probably 3-5 goals up. Carlton will close the gap in the second half with a majority of our juniors taking the field versus their juniors.

Fevola to dominate their forwardline. Taz ours. Des Headland to play a major part, kick 3 goals and generally look impressive. Rhys Palmer to play OK and kick 1-2 goals but generally be beat by playing on the best opposition.

Mark Johnson to impress, Keplar Bradley to faulter (will be given the ruck for most of 2nd half). Gilmore to fail in midfield role in first half then improve throughout second. Schammer at the bottom of most packs. Hasleby unnoticed with 30 possessions.

Michael Johnson 10+ marks in our defensive 50.
