We saw just how well Browny did against the taller players in Lloyd and Reiwoldt in 07, but we also subsequently have poorer games against the likes of Jones and Ebert.
Should be stick with the taller types or play more as a smaller defender as he hones his craft in 08?

Not sure Phil,
It may depend on who else can do the jobs in the backline. I would not want to be counting on Brown to go with the big blokes all the time. He is much better suited to the likes of Ebert etal,
Unfortunately the fortunes of all backmen are told by those in the midfield.
If the ball comes in fast and flat there isn't much a bloke can do.
Just on a side note, fast and flat are the reason Clinton Young will be a closely marked man this year, the other coaches will have woken up by now.

i wouldnt like to change things too much - the boy won AA.
Find the right match up each game and let Browny do his thing.
I think we should play him on the best suited forward for him. Not often does he lose the overall contest when he is properly matched up, tall forward or small.
However this means we need a smaller backman for those smaller forward types, like Ebert and Jones! Perhaps Murphy - I think he is really capable.
We don't seem to be in short supply of tall defenders though.
Gilham, Croad, Dawson.. all with different attributes.
It also becomes difficult because we have so many choices and players vying for positions in the team.

Totally agree... has shown he can play 3 roles... Defend Talls, Defend smalls and also his rebound footy is pretty good too.

Browny flogged Ebert until he took that last mark and goal. He should play the same role as last year but Clacko needs to be more flexible with him eg: if midfeild or forward line getting beaten he should move him there for a burst, as at least he will give a contest.

Agree. What a player, and what an asset to our club. I'd love to see Brownie running around the forward line, toughest guy on the park, can take a great mark as seen in the final qtr, Adelaide game, and can kick a goal. He has been a required player down back and is one of the reasons our defence held out down there in 07 despite not looking so good on paper. He's certainly a handy player that gives his all and has the talent, if beaten at one end, to be moved to the other. Not often he gets beaten though.

He will play on the best mobile forward. It maybe a tall - Lucas or Reiwoldt or a small like Chapman and Ebert.
He is an AA and should play on the oppositions best.

Phil???
He absolutely smashed Ebert. Jones on the other hand............but he gave Ebert a fair whooping. The bloke looked scared. Did kick an important goal in the Tassie game from memory though.
