OK guys and girls, how would you like to see the team line up against Sydney in just under two weeks time?

Which youngsters would you like to see play?

Personally, I think it's not worth risking our older players and i'd love to see a very young team.

Dew Gilham Dawson

Ellis Renouf Ladson

Birchall Kennedy Clarke

Rioli Dowler Young

Boyle Franklin Thorp

Campbell Lewis Muston

Taylor Morton Whtecross Tuck

... very exciting team.

In reality, there'll probably be alot more senior guys playing, but i'd love to see the youngsters get a go.

Isnt there 6 on the bench for nab? I am probably wrong?

If there is 6 look for Stokes to make the cut

No Roughead in the team Phil? Is that because he'll still be out injured from the knee twinge?

Given what Dew said about rehab I reckon they will hold a few players back.

Unavailable would be Dowler, Thorp, Roughie, Benny Mac, DJ, Dew, Max, Brownie and Willo. I'd even hold Crawf, Croad and Campbell back.

Cant see them playing Whitecross, Suckling, Walsh, McEntee. Everyone else will get a run.

They need to see Zac, Murph, Musto, Morton, Tuck Moss and Stokes.

Interchange has increased to 8 this year, so just about everyone who's not in rehab will be in the squad(s).

I think there are only half a dozen players that aren't up to a standard where a pre-season game is possible. Also there are a few players recovering from injuries. In total, I think the following players won't be able to play during a pre-season game: Whitecross, Walsh, Suckling, McEntee, McGlynn, DJ, Dowler and I think a few question marks on Dew, Williams and Roughead and totally unsure about Croad - I think he will play but some have said because he is older he will be rested!

Also, most of the leadership group will be playing, even Crawf!

Gilham Guerra Brown INT- Dawson

Ellis Murphy Tuck

R: Campbell Sewell Mitchell INT- Taylor

C: Lewis Birchall Ladson INT- Muston, Crawford, Clarke

*If 6 were on interchange.

Each player will probably change positions through out the game as well.

Mojo, you had 2 birchall's.. but youve got a pretty good team there!

They'll be 8 on the bench, so id add Renouf as a utility, and possibly stokes based on all the reports.

Given the potential of some of the players we have around the edge of our best 22 at the moment, this is a big NAB Cup for some players, moreso than previous years.

Good performances from the likes of Dawson, Murphy, Muston, Kennedy, etc, could seal a Rd 1 spot and ultimately setup their season.

Its going to be very interesting.

Phil,

I always enjoy your optimism howver some reality is needed to balance.

Josh Kennedy does not have the engine to play midfiled for longer than about 5 minutes at AFL level. If Josh plays he will be played from a HBF and i would suggest from what i have seen will end up like his old man playing from a flank.

Clinton Young on the forward line? Half back Line

Dew in the back pocket? When has Dew ever played in defence.

Muston 190cm rover? Beau will be played over his career similar to Andy Gowers as a tall mobile wingman..he is not a rover.

Our choice is to try and win a couple of early games to prevent us from flying to a place like Kalgoorlie in the following weeks to play practice games.

Hodge is out injured with a finger.

Everyone else should be picked on merit and what will resemble our best side if they are fit....Why rest anyone when they havent played a game in 5 months.

You have missed about 5 players that should be picked to play before the youngsters.

For those that have watched any games on that massive ground in Tassie should remember that Tall forwards to not get the job.

Because of the length of the ground mid-sized forwards who can run are the go. Boyle Thorp and Taylor on the forward line would never work.

Franklin Boyle Williams Rioli Dew and Crawford with one spare tall like Thorp or Dowler sitting on the pine to begin with should be the forward 6 on that ground. We are now in a position to structure differently depending on conditions and opposition.

Mark Williams is very important in Tassie. Quick midsized leader who can turn defenders inside out when the ball doesnt reach him on the full due to ground size.

I like your second team phreeze77.

lickmerocks (great name) If Dew plays it will be back and Young more likely to play forward as he did at times last year.
