Melbourne Cricket Ground
2:15pm Sunday February 10
Finally a result and with the Melbourne rain set to clear just in time for the game India will get a result for the first time in the series, but they’ll need more than they got in either innings of the Test at the G if the 1 is to go in the wins column to push them to the top of the table. Both teams probably unchanged, though Brad Hogg’s no certainty to play on the Melbourne pitch (if it can be called a pitch) and the rotation policy may reappear at some point.

300 on the MCG pitch? You'd have to bowl ridiculously poorly to give up that many runs.

Australia to have to get 10 overs out of Symonds and Clarke.

If it was an Indian getting out it would be 'a tough decision that was easy to miss' . If it's an Aussie it's 'the worst decision in cricket history.
Aussies get one bad call compared to every seven the visiting nation gets.
Good to see Karma bit Gilchrist in the arse :D

If the Indian cricket team didn't continue to show themselves up as complete and utter hypocrites, you wouldn't get posts along those lines.

I'll cut off my leftie if Dhoni didn't know that wasn't an inside edge. Have a look at the replay, put two arms up and a pathetic appeal, then a big smile when it was given out.
But, it's only us that doesn't play within the spirit of the game.

Dhoni showed what he is made of with his false claiming of that catch against Pietersen in a test against England.
So no surprise that he appealed here - or if he does for any other decision which is clearly not out either.

Indian are hypocritical though. Spirit of the game my a**.
I played in a game yesterday where we called a batsman back after he was given out LBW, we half appealed before we realised he hit it, but the umpire waited then gave him out anyway. It wasnt as bad as that one though.

Australia arent the only team in that boat. India is left unscathed? Agree it was a shyte decision but its ridiculous how the sportsmanship card gets played each and every time this comes up. The only classy aspect was how Gilly reacted. What a champ!

I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's a professional umpire - if he couldn't see or hear that edge then he doesn't deserve to be paid.
It's not like one of those tiny little nicks where the bat is a few millimetres from the pad - the bat was miles away from his pads, the ball was going nowhere near the pads and there was a massive double noise.
It was the equivalent of a batsman hitting the ball straight back to the bowler and taking off for a run.
Over the top of 2nd slip for 4 by Hayden. and a free hit as well..

Haydos is a genius.
Normally bats a mile out of his crease to throw the bowlers line off; then he walks down the pitch to mess with their heads even more.
Now he's batting down in his crease, and Sharma can't get his length right, and looks worried about no-balls.
