Round 13:
Darley 10.8.68 lost to Redan 16.10.106
Lake Wendouree 10.7.67 lost to Daylesford 21.10.136
This is a split round...next weeks games to complete Round 13 are:
East Point V Melton South (Saturday)
Sebastopol V Ballarat (Saturday)
Sunbury V Bacchus Marsh (Saturday)
If you read this mobbers, Redan are looking very good and will probably finish in the top two. At the moment they are premiership favourites, having beaten both Melton sides, Sunbury, Bacchus Marsh and Darley away from home. I will post the ladder or anything else if anyone requests it :)

I saw Redan won again, beating Darley ... they'd have to be on top now, or thereabouts!

In 3rd, 34% off top spot.
Flag favourites, and I can't see any side in the top 6 beating them at the moment.
PM me Kev if you want some more detailed info.

Nah, that's plenty to go on ... if Redan did get up for a flag, it'd be their first since three in a row in the mid-70s (1975-77)!

It would be an even better effort considering that only a couple of years ago they lost every game for the season.
Who is your pick for the priemership Hilly?
I'd like to see Redan upset these newcomers to the BFL.

I'd say Redan at the moment, though it will be interesting to see if they can keep up this form for the remainder of the season. It would be great for the club considering where they were at a few years ago, and great for the competition as well, being from the Ballarat region. There will also be a question mark over their ability to perform in finals, though they appear to be fearless, having won every game away from home this season.
Other chances would be Sunbury who have a good run home and Melton South if they can put it together in the finals for once. Darley have fallen away a bit IMO and I don't think Melton can win it again.
guys, do u know if/where theres a website with the team lists for this weekend for the BFL?

The BFL site seems now to be under the restrictive VCFL website umbrella, so its details seem to be diminished ... doesn't seem to have team lists.

It's really close to either Bacchus Marsh or Melton, I can't remember for sure which one. Its just north of one of them.

Round 14 tips:
Saturday
Daylesford V Redan
Bacchus Marsh V Sebastopol
Ballarat V East Point
Sunbury V Darley
Sunday
Melton South V Melton
hilly
27th July 2002, 18:12
Daylesford 16.8.104 D Redan 8.5.53
Sebastopol 18.7.115 D Bacchus Marsh 16.15.111
Ballarat 13.8.86 D East Point 10.16.76
Sunbury 17.11.113 D Darley 17.7.109
1 out of 4 tipping for me so far
Daylesford improving each week, Redan probably due for a loss. Sebastopol came back from a 14 pt deficit with 3 minutes to go, East Point are headed for the wooden spoon and Darley slide to 5th. Sunbury stay on top and the winner of Melton South-Melton will join them in the top two.
well 2 out of 5 now hilly,
big win by the panthers today after leading by just a point at half time...
Melton South 22.9.141 def. Melton 8.10.58

No idea Phil.....Daylesford have been in pretty good form recently and are up to either 3rd or 4th on the ladder after this round. Redan may have been due for a loss, and the split round probably halted their momentum a little bit. I still think all of the top 6 sides are capable of winning the flag, though it's looking a bit sick for both Darley and Melton at the moment

Daylesford V Melton : Both teams disappointing last week, suspect this is now or never for Melton. 50-50 game
Darley V Lake Wendouree: Darley ran out strongly last week, L.W won at home against the highly rated Melton South but I expect this task to be beyond them
Ballarat V Bacchus Marsh : Ballarat have won their last two after looking like wooden spoon contenders. Bacchus Marsh have been very disappointing this season and will have to play better this week if they're to grab the four points
Melton South V Sebastopol: Melton South downed surprisingly last week, Sebastopol walloped at Sunbury, expect the Panthers to hit back hard.
Redan V Sunbury: Match of the round, Redan defeated Sunbury easily earlier in the year. Another 50-50 game but Redan at home and Sunbury will struggle if the heavens open up.
Bye: East Point

Who has been playing well for Redan?
I see there is a Cooney playing there... Is that Luke Cooney, and if so, how is he playing? I hear he has a bit of a fiery temprament.

Best players for Redan this year have been Robbie Greenbank, Luke Nunn, Aaron Freeland, Justin Rumble, Luke Cooney, Scott Easdown, Jayden Reid and Dru Quinlan
Cooney has been pretty good, and to my knowledge has not been involved in any note-worthy incidents such as a report

Took the foot off the accelerator mate, they've won 11 of their past 12 and will win again this week

1st Qualifying Final
(1) Sunbury V (2) Melton South
These teams finished apart by 2.8% at the top of the table. Sunbury just did enough last week whilst Melton South smashed Ballarat by 119 points. Possibly a grand final preview.
Sunbury by 15 points
2nd Elimination Final
(3) Redan V (6) Melton
Redan have won 11 of their past 12 encounters and Melton have stumbled to 6th position. The only thing to count against Redan is a lack of finals experience, whilst Melton have won the last 2 BFL premierships. Redan beat Melton in the final round of the season by 14 points at home, whilst also defeating them by 37 points earlier in the season. If Redan hold their nerve I expect them to win well.
Redan by 19 points
1st Elimination Final
(4) Daylesford V (5) Darley
Daylesford finished 1 game clear but I think Darley have the game to beat them. Daylesford lost at home to Darley by 21 points early in the season and lost away to them by 13 points. Should be close though
Darley by 8 points

Sunbury 6.15.51 Redan 16.14.110
This is Redan's 6th BFL premiership, their first since 1977 when they won 3 in a row (1975-77). They ran away with the game in the final quarter, kicking 8 goals to 2, having led by 21 at QT, trailing by 1 at HT and leading by 23 at 3QT before running away with it at the non-scoring end of the ground, where only 1 goal was kicked (out of 12) prior to the final term.
They were the best side this year and deserve this premiership, and with their young squad I think this could be a very successful era for the club. As for Sunbury, well they finished runners-up in both the seniors and u/18s and took away the cup in the reserves so I think it's fair to say they have a strong future on-field in the coming years :)
