I think sri lanka really need to blood some youngsters on this aussie tour...
i hate to say this but maybe sanath jayasuirya should be tapped on the shoulder...
he has been a wonderful servant and deserves a fantastic farewell...i think he should be afforded this when sri lanka play australia at the MCG...the same ground he made his debut in a glittering career back in 1989...
Be good to see guiys like Kapagudera at the top of the order...

Disagree, there is no point in blooding youngsters mid-way through a tour of Australia, there is no surer way of curtailing a youngsters development then throwing them like lambs to the slaughter.
Sure, great players like Warne were thrown in, but they were great. Sri Lanka made the decision to pick older players, they should go for the win, and they have the side to do it.
IF they bat first and they fire then the slow bowlers they have can do the rest.
All this talk about blooding players for the sake of it annoys me, IMO it can be for bad then good for a young player throwing them in to get smashed.
I agree Sri Lanka cat, in the batting at any tate Sri Lanka need to find some alternitives, Sangakarra seems to be carrying too much of the load and it can where.
Tharanga has no shortage of talant and he needs to step up to the next level by demonstrating better shot selection.

I think they have a good mixture of youngsters and experienced players for a tour like this.
They are bowling well but Sangakarra needs support with the bat.
I like the look of Amerasinghe.
His action reminds me a hell of alot of Agarkar.

I think Sri Lanka have good enough batters and a nice mix. They just need to produce. I do agree Jayasuria may as well retire. I don't know why he didn't after the WC.
Tharanga's a great prospect, but they need to find some other younger batsmen to compliment Jayawardene and Sangkarra.
Kupagadera is decent (nothing special), though Silva seems to be a bit of a talent.
How is Sri Lanka's Under 19 team, SLC?

I dont really klnow a lot about hte players coming in through the ranks...
all i know is tough tours like this are ideal to blood youngsters WHEN we have some experienced players to guide them... Tharanga is a great propsect and i reckon there is merit in giving someone like Kapagudera a chance to open...
Silva is a great player too with dashing footwork, i think he is a chance to open as well...
what we really need is a solid allrounder...maharoof might fit the bill when he is back from injury...
the other day was a poor performance but i dont see any major problems and i think SL will actually go on and win the CB series...but i would like to c the young guys against the best in the world...

I think we are giving enuff exposeure to the young blokes at this point. I tend to think it's better to blood young guys during a home series rather than an overseas one. It allows them to concentrate more on fitting into the line up.

This whole business with a lack of finances is going to hurt the development of these kids. Something needs to be done about that quick smart. Apparently the tsunami had a major effect on a lot of the up and comers over there - many losing families etc
