James is comming from the furthest back in regards to Education of an AFL player even though he has been on a NSW scholarship with us for a while now. This pre season has been his first real exposure to what is required and is making improvements in his conditioning and football. He has recentaly suffered from Osgood Schlatters disease, but will only be in rehab for around 3 weeks

He will be playing his VFL football with Werribee, so I will make sure that I keep on eye and updated you on his progress each week.

Had a chat with him down at Geelong today and he said that he will finally get on the ground next week.

He'll play in the Werribee reserves against Bendigo.

Thanks for the update Benny. Seen him at training a couple of times and he hasn't been training with the main group so i'm assuming he's still recovering from something.

Yep.

He said that he's been doing a lot of work in the gym and mostly stationary work away from the main group at training.

I'll make sure he gets a mention in the player reports next week, but just a warning may not be at the Werribee games because of netball commitments.

Got through his first game for the year unscathed.

Kicked two goals and played at both ends of the ground, he looked impressive in patches.

I think the Roos coaching staff are more interested in nursing them through the year until he is ready to play senior VFL football.

Continues to improve with every game he plays in the Werribee reserves side and should be a chance for some senior VFL games later this year.

Has been very close to making his senior VFL debut in recent weeks and I think it will only be a matter of time before he plays.

Didn't play last week due to the Werribee reserves having a bye.
