I wish someone would just deck the bastard and be done with it.
Something to do with the small incident following the racist's dismissal. Ponting ran past him and Harbhajan stopped and turned suddenly and seemed unimpressed about something. Deserves everything he gets though TBH.

Ponting said "Bugger, my shoulder's busted"
Harbhajan heard "Where's the roll, ya bastard"

It's Harbhajan's fault.
He shouldn't have asked Ponting to shout at him when he got out.

What was wrong with it?
FFS, these 2 have had a rivarly for years, nothing in it, these type of things are good for the game and show the passion these 2 have, both of them are fantastic cricketers who won't take a backward step.
Cricket has always striked me as a game where people seem to think they can take the moral high ground for some reason.
In AFL for instance, do you expect a player to say he threw the ball when he got away with it, should Jono Brown have told the ump he threw the ball to Luke Power in the 2001 grand final with the Lions pushing the Dons to the limit which eventually proved to much.
Why does cricket have this?
I dare say the Ponting V Singh thing has been one of the highlights of the summer so far, Ponting having to fight tooth and nail against his form.
I love this sort of stuff.

Do we have footage? Anybody posted it anywhere? I would like to view this shouting-in-face incident (aka Pontingate) for myself.

Look, we all know you're a bit upset because you thought India were going to win that game. Once again they proved themselves to be pea-hearts who fold like a deckchair, but there's no need to cry about it.

Wasn't really captured. there was one replay where you could see Ponting's head turn towards nobhead as he ran past, then nobhead stopped walking. But the camera was still panning across so he disappeared out of the shot and Ponting continued running over to Gilchrist.
No doubt Ponting said something, but there's nothing to suggest any "shouting".

So it could have been anything from 'tough luck old chap' to 'on yer bike ya so and so'...OR Harbi thinking Punter was going to chat him and looked, or the aggressive little harbi just doing a cricket version of the chest thrust?
And those saying OBVIOUSLY Ponting said something... Harbi does have a bit of a ME complex you know...thinks everything is about him.

I doubt he unloaded too much. IIRC, Ponting didn't even break his stride as he ran past. Maybe he said Teri Makai.

Considering what happened in the past, the reaction caught on video, and the fact it took him a while to come up with the "maki" excuse, I think it's within my rights to assume he did infact call Symonds a monkey.

I think renegade is looking for concrete proof which we have none.
For example, we can use the Ashes drubbing of 5 - 0 as proof Australia has the Ashes. I think renegade is wanting hard proof that Harbi called Symonds a monkey, as in an audio recording or something like that

Yeah proof like that. Along the lines of how Warne was proven to be a drug cheat. Something solid.

I didn't say there was plenty of proof. I said that it's within my rights to assume he used that word, going by what I've seen and heard in the news. I'm not a judge, so I can think what I like, and I think he called Symonds a monkey.

Yes, I aggree that in a court-like situation then one's word cannot be taken over another's even though it did seem beyond reasonable doubt that harbi said something but despite this there was no solid proof.
You have used a good example here.
