I hope it is Hogg retiring, not Haydos.
If it is Hogg, it will be interesting to see who the spinner will be in the one dayers

I've heard Stuart MacGill is in and around the 'G as well.

Anyone but Cameron White
IPL & ICL strike another blow... why tour Pakistan when you can roll in Twenty20 money?
This largess will claim a few more in the next couple of years also.
George has proven he is not a test spinner this summer, time for him to make a little extra before permanent retirement. Perfectly understandable.

Perhaps might be a better idea to start a "Brad Hogg retires" thread
though latecomers may wonder why people are talking about his ODI bowling

Good luck George. Was a very underated bowler in ODI's, his wrong'un was deadly. Was a perfect replacement for Warnie.

One of my favourites for donkey's years now, so long Hoggy. His obvious enthusiasm for representing his country was always great stuff.

Might as well make Mark Waugh our front line spinner. White is a batsman first and foremost.
As for spinners to replace him, Cullen will eventually get a gig I feel. Sure, he's been poor since his first games for Australia but he's still only about 23-24.
Gotta give credit to Hogg on a sensational ODI career, was great in all disciplines. A shame he never had such success in Tests, just couldn't quite cut it in the longer form of the game. In his press conference he said his last goal was to make it back into the Test side - he achieved that but didn't go any further than simply winning caps.
dont bowl there

Second best ODI spinner to represent Australia, good stuff Hoggy.

Well I hate to be the one that says this, but there is one positive..our spinner in the tests may take a wicket for once! Hogg has had a good career but watching him in the tests was as painful as watching Paris Hilton attempt to "sing"
Brilliant One Day spinner, one of the world's best and will be sorely missed. Australia has a hole in their slow bowling stocks ATM but hopefully one of the young blokes can rise to the challenge. Finding a Test quality spinner is probably more of a worry though.

Great little one day player ...good in the field and handy with the bat in the lower order ..his enthusiasm for the game will be missed .
A few batsmen around the world will breathe a sigh of relief now that they won't be made to look silly trying to pick his deadly wrong'un :D
I agree ..our spinning depth is a glaring weakness .

If we were relying on Hogg we were strugging to start with, just above average player at best.
Credit to Hoggy, really stood up after Warney's one day retirement. Loved his wrong-un - decent batsmen could usually pick it ok but not the tailenders. Played some handy knocks too over the years. Well done.
