The AFL in Central Australia says ticket sales have been slow for tonight's pre-season clash between Carlton and West Coast.

It will be the Eagles' third visit to Traeger Park in as many years.
The league's general manager Brett O'Farrell says 12,000 people attended last year's game and he's hopeful of a strong turn-out tonight.

"We'd love to get above 10,000 again. Ticket sales have been a little bit slow in the last 24 hours, but we expect that typical Alice Springs last-minute rush and we think we'll get a real bumper crowd."

Many of the clubs' star players have remained home for the match, but both coaches are talking up their young new talent.

Carlton coach Brett Ratten says his team will be adopting different tactics for the desert conditions.

"With the heat, we'll just rotate players and make sure that all the players get games and just monitor their well-being to make sure they don't fatigue too much."

West Coast coach John Worsfold has praised the facilities at Traeger Park.

"For us, we know what's here in terms of coming and facilities and we know it's all really good. So sometimes that anxious feeling you might have when you're going to a remote area isn't a problem for us coming back here."

No suprise that it probably wont be a sell out game. Interesting to note John's praise of the facilities.

NAB cub entry price should be gold coin donation. The gold coin donations should be gathered up as the prize for winning the competition. Each team should nominate a charity at the beginning of the comp and the gold coin donation tally goes to the nominated charity of the winning team.

Could you imagine Collo agreeing to that for TD games??

That's a great idea, I think it would only work for these community games or whatever they're called. They should also make them more community minded and relaxed, like not having to pay for event staff and BYO esky's etc - like the old days!
