View Full Version : Injuries vs Sydney.
Hoping that Simmonds and Polak will be right for R1 (after being rested next week against Geelong IMO). Apparently Schulz's injury will be x-rayed today and if the rib is broken, approx how many weeks does it take to fully recover?

4-6 weks i think
Ribs are a complete bastard because there's no way to set them.
I cracked (not even fully broke) a rib a year or so ago and it took 5 months to fully have no pain. Could probably have played footy (you know, if I played footy) after two or three months. Then again, I'm not a superfit bloke.
It's a bloody tragedy for Schulz because he might recover, but It's no guarrantee his career will.

Wallace said on SEN last night that Shultz was out for 1-2 weeks. Would not have flown with the team if the medicos felt he had broken them. Was there last night and he did not look good at all, moving very gingerly afterwards. Bruised ribs are just as bad as broken ones and they appear to be the ones at the back as well which can`t be good.

If it had have been broken, that would have put Schulz out for far too many weeks in a make-or-break season.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys (as Jay needs every opportunity to prove his worth in '08).
Off the topic but can anyone confirm that we are playing Geelong in next weeks praccy and if so, what day & time?
Thanks.

Schulz right for round one, as is Polak but they will both miss the Geelong match (who cares). Simmonds is right for the Geelong match. Huge relief.

he will be ok by round one if he plays or not is another issue, you wouldn't play him if he wasn't 100%, he will play alot this year tho. i hope he shine a great young south austrailan talent.

I doubt he will play in round 1 now that he has picked up the injury. Play him at Coburg round 1 and see how he goes.
Talls to play round 1 IMO: Richo, Simmonds, Pattison, Polak, Thurstfield, Bowden, Hughes, Moore

I would have preferred to see a close to full strength side against Geelong so we could get everybody settled for Round 1. No Polak and no Simmonds means we have to re-organise everything a bit.
Is Gus still injured? I'd very much like it if he took the ruck duties for Simmo this week.
