AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson confirmed the investigation was ongoing. It is believed the investigation could centre on a question of whether Roos contravened a section of clause 19.3, which states coaches must all times be playing to win matches.
WTF carlton did this all last year
But NAB Cup games are not matches. They're sandpits.

We couldn't have won against the Saints if we tried - as seen the other week.

Nah disagree. As you can bet on preseason games its wrong. Roos and Carlton and the afl are a big joke.

Roos and the Sydney Swans are perfectly entitled not to bother about the NAB Cup. The AFL should steer clear, they are offering money for the cup and they dont lose anything just because a club dosent want to compete.
That said, Carlton's 2007 Tanking is common knowledge, if Sydney are penalised for tanking a single round of the Nab Cup, then Carlton must be punished also.

Yes there should always be an enquiry into a bottom 4 club losing to a team in the top 8.
youd have to have rocks for brains if you bet on NAB games. surely you'd say to yourself "are this team sydney gonna come out breathing fire and risking tooth and nail to win?"
DUMB.

the whole thing is a business...it generates "turnover" whether or not people suggest its all a shit comp...there are always customers busting to put a few bucks on 'a" result. Now Adrian Anderson needs to move on, he goes from one WTF to the other with the expertise of Lou Costello. We all know that its a business, and what happens is part of a "prospective" script. But when he comes out with this shit..then all it does is rubber stamp it. I would suggest that Andy needs to get a sharper mind into the seat, because this nuff nuff is as sharp as a bowling ball. ;)

well said! :thumbsu:
I think the NAB cup is ok for trialling youngsters... it's the NAB Challenge crap that needs to be seriously looked at. Sending AFL players to cow paddocks to play footy would have to be one of the most ridiculous ideas! They dont train on cow paddocks and for what they are paid it is too dangerous to send them to pot hole, golf ball, dog shit infested ovals to play a game. I feel sorry for all the knee injury victims already this year!!!
