FFS TW, leave Richo, Browny, lids, Simmo, Bowden, Thurstfield, Foley in the grandstand for this Fri game v the Cats. If we can go into R1 with our best players on the park then it will really give the Blues something to think about. They've rounded of their prep beautifully. Give some of the colts a taste for how the premieres go about it...might wake a few up as to where they need to get to:eek:

I disagree, personally I would play them, simply for the reason that the Cats may well rest a number of their stars and if we played our best possible line up and get a win it might just give them a huge confidence boost heading into the round 1 match.

I kinda agree however part of me i also disagree. I dont want any injuries from the game. I just want a good hitout however i am unsure if I would want all our senior players playing.

We will rest Foley IMO because he has played every match so far.

Hard to say. I partially agree with RT in that i think a win would be a good confidence booster, but if someone important got injured, that would be strife.
And just out of interest, why do so many people think thursfield has a t after the s?

If thats the case then so should we, whoever is in line to play round 1 should play this weekend. They have the following week off before the season proper so we should go with our best possible line up. If players get hurt they get hurt.

Agree completely,
Play them all in position and let them settle in a bit before the real stuff.
Time to kick it up a gear and play it as though it was the real thing.

yep. 100%. People get all worried about pre-season injuries but fact is that you need match fitness and match practice if you hope to get a good start to the H & A season. If players get hurt its just bad luck.

Also you already get a week off at this time and if you did rest 10 of your best 22 against a full strength cats you would probably get hammered which could really dent the confidence of those playing.

for me its about going into round one with momentum, hitting the ground running as if you were a month into the real season.

i think the staff are so desperate to have abetter start to the year and that is why we are fielding our best22 or as close to as possible each week.

we will probably tire pointy end but who knows.

i like this strategy more than holding back.

take the risks. if an injury happens then so be it move on. we need to raise the bar and play every game like its our last.

have no doubt that we will tear the Blue boys a new one in the first round. Get on with the TAB, we are morals. As long as TW wakes up and picks the right side with the right personel who dont make ****ing schoolboy errors. COme on TW, if you havent worked it out by now, then i have grave doubts if you will ever work it out. We have the talent its just that you pick talent and right next to it you pick the completely untalented. ;)

I'm with you on this one nothing to be really gained by risking them. Give the youngsters a hit out it will be good experience against quality opposition.

Send our boys out when it really counts ROUND 1 against the Blues
