The Rivers and Whelan one really annoys me no end.

Pretty sure he's just carrying some niggling injury, from reports he's been on a modified training regime. I'm not too worried if he doesn';t get a game, he's still a kid and there is plenty of time left in his career.
One thing I don't get is this obsession people have with throwing high draft picks straight into the deep end, ie: People saying Morton should be a definate starter round 1. These kids are 17-18 years old, its not as though if we don't play them now they will be wasted. The only exception I can make to a 1st year player playing round 1 is Bartram, who performed consitantly during preseason, and then was able keep his spot. Let them play at sandy, keep developing, and if their form warrants it, then give them a shot at the big time.

The problem we have at the moment is that we still have senior players who are injured or way out of form. We may have no choice but to play a kid like Morton. In a perfect world we wouldn't need to, but this is the MFC - nothing is ever perfect.
There is an article on the discussion board as at 6/3/08 that says that Wheelan , Bartram, Rivers and Wheatly, I believe , are all playing for Sandringham seniors this weekend, Saturday 8th March, 2008. Hope it helps.
