....during which, the result of the match has been decided off a 3rd umpire decision off the very last ball of the match(i.e: 49.6 overs)?
For the life of me cannot think of one, but would make for a nervous situation in any case...

Well the way umpires these days call for the third umpire for absolutely everything, it probably wouldn't be that exciting.

Australia v New Zealand.
12th Man - The Final Dig. Umpire Les Bian flashed his ass out the window, calling for the crack cam to determine whether or not Shane Warne got a touch on a ball that deflected onto the stumps. :D :thumbsu:

Why on earth do you want to know something so specific? What if there was such an instance?

This is probably one such occasion:

South Africa v England, Bloemfontein, 2 Feb 2005
Stumping off the last ball, match results in a tie.

Can't think of a more bizarre way to end a match really, that still remains a fairly plausible way to end it.
And no that example didn't count according to the report. 3rd umpire not required.

Presumably they tried to run a bye and the batsman was run out, Kabir Ali was bowling 90mph* so Geraint Jones can't have been standing up
*90MPH tosh yes but 90mph all the same
