Got my tickets yesterday for Wednesday's Melbourne show.
I've been listening to Parliament's Tear the Roof Off compilation to get in the mood all week. It should be awesome.

Great show, very enjoyable!
They did heaps of old classic numbers in the Sydney Show.
Bop Gun
Funkentelcy
Falshlight
Atomic Dog
Cosmic Slop
and the highlight of the night ...
Maggot Brain with the original guitarist doing the solo.
There were a couple of low points in the show (it was three and a half hours so I guess that that's understandable.) I didn't like the "Broadway" type number that featured one of the girls, and the guitarist that looked like Whoopi Goldberg ... give it a rest mate. I haven't heard such inane waffle coming from a guitar since I went and saw Malmsteen. Terrible guitar sound as well, didn't mix with the rest of the band.
Still, the night went off and it was a pleasure to see one of the true funk-masters in action!!

Flashlight was definitely a highlight for me. Great show but you are spot on Briedis did drag just a little in parts. But hey I'm a big Ramones fan so I'm used to 2 minute songs! Pretty amazing effort for a bloke his age.

Good show. Too long. Would have been nice to have a seat after about an hour.
I think it was a bad night for it too........Wednesday night.......it's hardly party night.
Imagine that show on a Saturday night. Perfect!
The band were ok; not actually as good as i expected. The guitarist on the right hand side with the **** ****'s t-shirt on was good until his shredding took over towards the end; the first drummer sucked; the 2nd drummer was ok; the guitarist with the "Madfunk" shirt on was pathetic; the bass player wasn't too bad but was no Bootsy; the brass were probably the highlight (hearing all those old brass lines live was damn cool!) ; the girl in the Chinese style dress was fantastic, and she could sing too ;) ; George was ok.
I think that a show like that would be perfect on a Saturday night with drugs and/or alcohol. But a Wednesday night with work the next day makes it a bit hard.
It definately dragged on at times, but it was still good. I'm certainly glad i went and saw it. :)

What did you guys thing of Michael Hamptons guitar solo in Maggot Brain ... how ****in good was that!!
*beams down from the Mothership*
Ohhhhhh....coming down.....
Wow! What a show! I have to say out of all the concerts I've been to (200+) that show last night was the most intense. It physically and mentally drained me beyond belief. I left after about three and a half hours, and apparently they played on for another half hour and did "Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On" by Jerry Lee Lewis towards the end.
My highlights were: The grand entrance of George; the bass player (excellent voice as well as good heavy sounds); the horn section; the crowd participation (never seen a guy hold an audience in the palm of his hand like that before).
My booty hurts. :( :D
