These are my tips for the KDFL, the GVFL and the DVFL (Phil D, i'll forgot to post this to www.australianrules.com.au like I was wanting to it's Friday night and it's too late, but i'll do it next Wednesday, as well as my report on the Shepparton East vs Rumbalara match, which i'll e-mail on monday).

ROUND 15 OF THE KDFL, AND MY TIPS ARE:
AVENEL vs Murchison
(The poor old 'Hoppers have to face Lancaster next Saturday, and i'm not looking forward to that)
Undera vs NAGAMBIE
(Undera won't play as good as what they did last week, i'll give you that)
Stanhope vs RUSHWORTH (match of the round)
ARDMONA vs Tallygaroopna
(For Ardmona's sake, lets hope that they get good value for their $900 per week from Damien Yze)
LANCASTER vs Girgarre
Merrigum has the bye

ROUND 16 OF THE GVFL, AND MY TIPS ARE:
SHEPPARTON SWANS vs Euroa
(The Magpies finals chances will end tommorrow, barring a huge upset)

Tongala vs BENALLA
(The Saints need to win this one to reclaim top spot from the Swans, and I think they'll do it at Tonny)

Mansfield vs MOOROOPNA (match of the round)
(Although Mansfield are a different proposition at home, Mooroopna have played well over the last fortnight, and the Cats, with the help of ex AFL players, Simon Hawking and Wade Chapman will condemn the Eagles to the wooden spoon for 2002)

Seymour vs ROCHESTER
(Rochy, also vying for top spot, should come away with an easy win over the Lions, and finish their slim finals hopes)

Tatura vs SHEPPARTON
(Tatura played well against Rochester, and they will be pumped for a big performance for their 1952 & 1953 premiership team, who are having a reunion, but Shepparton need to win this one to keep Euroa and Seymour at bay.)

SHEPPARTON UNITED vs Kyabram
(Ky has lost their way over the last few weeks, after looking promising earlier in the season, and although the Demons form has been up and down like a yo-yo this year, I can't logically see an upset here at Deakin Reserve)

Echuca has the BYE.

ROUND 14 OF THE DIAMOND VALLEY FOOTBALL LEAGUE'S DIVISION ONE, AND MY TIPS ARE:
MONTMORENCY vs Bundoora (match of the round)

This game is a tough one to select, both sides are in good form, and Bundoora need to win here so they still in striking distance of the double-chance, and a rare win against Mont at their mud-pile should do the trick, but the Maggies have been one of the form sides this year, and home ground advantage should see them through.

NORTHCOTE PARK vs Lower Plenty

The Cougars are ready to pounce, they've already knocked off Epping and Bundoora in convinsing fashion, and they are starting to peak at the right time, and they'll boost their percentage with a big win over the Bears.

West Preston/Lakeside vs EPPING

Epping was beaten easily by Northcote Park at home last week, and have a lot of wounded pride coming into this match, the Westlakies have been terribl;e this year, and Epping needs to win and win well to regaing their self confidence.

HEIDELBERG vs Lalor

Warringal Park is not a happy hunting ground for the Bloods, and today's game will be no exception, Heidelberg will be looking to knock Lalor out of Division One once and for all, and the reprocussions of 1999, will add an extra incentive for the Tigers to kick their arse.

NORTH HEIDELBERG vs Greensborough

The Bulldogs shouls win, enough said.

ROUND 15 OF THE DIAMOND VALLEY FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION TWO, AND MY TIPS ARE:
SOUTH MORANG vs Wallan

Although the Lions are probably out of the finals race this year, they should be able to finish off 2002 in style with a convincing win over Wallan, who were disappointing against Panton Hill last week.

Heidelberg West vs DIAMOND CREEK

Although the Creekers played the spoiler for Reservoir last week, I think that their finals dreams are jsut that, a dream. Heidelberg West did well to kick 12 goals against Eltham last week, but I don't think that the Hawks will have enough guns to cause an upset at home.

THOMASTOWN vs Panton Hill

If this game was at Panton Hill, I would give the Redbacks a reasonable chance to beat Thomastown, but the Bears play thier wind prone and cramped ground to perfection, and they would prove this by beating Panton Hill comfortably.

FAWKNER PARK vs Whittlesea (match of the round)

This is a virtaul toss of a coin here, Fawkner Park should be hurting a lot after losing to Macleod last Saturday, and they need to keep in touch of the finals pack to avoid dropping out of the race, and if they're going to be a finals contender, they're going to have to beat sides like Whittlesea, who have been in sensational form ovcer the last month, Fawkner Park have guns like Callea, Scuderi and Ball, but Whittlesea also have their share of game breakers with Skehan, Buttigeig and Eifferman etc, but since that I HOPE THAT WHITTLESEA LOSES, and they're bound to drop a game sooner or later, I select Fawkner Park, but only by the barest of margins.

Macleod vs MERNDA

This match also deserves "match of the round status", but the Fawkner Park and Whittlesea game has a bit more of a baring on who's going to make the finals.

Macleod and Mernda are on equal points with Reservoir, Whittlesea and Fawkner Park, but both side have a much larger percentage, and this game can virtually decide who's going to finish in second place this year, and get the vital double chance.

Macleod was lucky to get away with the points against Fawkner Park, but Kinglake sadly provided little more than a percentage boost for Mernda (which was surely needed).

Macleod playes well and thier leaning ground of Rosanna, and Mernda really needs to be at their best to win here, but Mernda's heart and determination will see the through in the end, to secure a vital win.

Watsonia vs HURSTBRIDGE

The Bridges have too many good players for the Saints to conquer, and it will be self evident come Saturday night.

Reservoir vs ELTHAM

The Two Blues should be fired up for this match, after dropping a vital game last week against Diamond Creek, and although they have the players to cause an upset (Adam Bruni, Dean Newell etc.), Eltham would want to go through the season undefeated, and the Panthers should prevail.

Kinglake has the BYE.

Diamond Valley Football League Division Two Results.

RESERVOIR 12.12.84 d. ELTHAM 7.14.56

Eltham's first loss for this season, and a huge boost for the Two Blues.

HURSTBRIDGE 10.9.69 d. WATSONIA 6.4.40

MACLEOD 21.5.131 d. MERNDA 7.18.60

Macleod had one more scoring shot than Mernda, and they got thrashed by 71 points, personally, I think that Mernda will fall out of the final 5, or even if we do make it, we'll just fall over the line like last year.

WHITTLESEA 14.11.95 d. FAWKNER PARK 4.13.37

Whittlesea's looking good, Borogirl. if there's a team that can knock off Eltham for the flag, going on form I reckon it would be the Eagles.

THOMASTOWN 10.12.72 d. PANTON HILL 9.9.63

DIAMOND CREEK 23.21.159 d. HEIDELBERG WEST 10.9.69

SOUTH MORANG 17.5.107 d. WALLAN 1.7.13

Mernda, Whittlesea and Reservoir are only seperated on percentage, with Fawkner Park a game behind, and Thomastown and Hurstbridge two games behind with three games to go.

I correctly selected 4/7 there.

BENALLA 22.17.149 d. TONGALA 9.4.58
MANSFIELD 15.11.101 d. MOOROOPNA 9.9.63
ROCHESTER 19.11.125 d. SEYMOUR 9.7.61
SHEPPARTON UNITED d. KYABRAM by 5-6 goals, Ky were only a goal behind it by three quarter time, but the Baby Bombers were over-run by the classy Shepp. United.

5/6 correctly selected.

Didn't get to the game on Saturday, (must rest up before I give birth on Friday, & my family were concerned I would either get too excited because it might be a close game & I go into labour, OR I would freeze to death!!!) anyway, Dad heard Easto say it is the best win he's had since coming to Whittlesea!!! Go Eagles!!

Well, Whittlesea's been threatening to win a premiership for a few years now, and I do think that Steve Easton is the guy to do it, he's tough, got a great football brain and seems to have instilled a toughness into his side.

And Stevo and his brother Dean (who used to play for Panton Hill, for 7-8 years, until he was super-seeded in the Ruck department last year, by young gun, and good friend, Will Box) who's been kiling them in the two's, are good blokes and I wish them the best of luck.

P.S
I'm only saying this because Mernda's out of premiership contention in the seniors (but, is still right in it in the seconds)
