Eddie "listen to the Collingwood cheer squad down at the city end, chanting like an English soccer team"

Pause

and then in all seriousness

"they're original down there"

like English soccer supporters?

Reminds me of when my next door neighbour got an earring.

Why I ask?

I want to be an individual.............

.........like everyone else :D

If you think I believe you are who you say you are, you are an idiot.

Pretending to be somebody you are not is bad anything. Pretending to be the leader of the Pink Magpies is absolutely pathetic.

Nah Fred, its not a disagreement, its a constant personal attack performed by a troll no less yet you allow it to go on and on and clog up your board with trash

Not telling you how to do your job, but on the boards I moderate I wouldnt let imposters like Defender drag it down to the level that he does

For some reason people on here thinks its funny 'baiting' Pie supporters into defending our club when really its a natural reaction which will never change. We will always be here loud and proud!

Thank you Fred. Proof is in the pudding. And I am not the only person that has an opinion on Joffa and his role with the Collingwood Cheer Squad.

The Pressure Group here may bash my opinion and that is their right but some of us have two eyes and will have a chuckle at some of the ridiculous stuff that is coming from the one who keeps laying golden eggs! cluck cluck! LOL

Boy did I laugh last night when he was fighting to hold up that silly red flag!! and people around him were laughing at him and not chanting!

i was telling my missus during the ad break about a guy who had come west for the Freo v Collingwood game and posted on the internet about how he was blown away by our Freo Chant...

and then how he had come up with a cunning plan to use it at Collingwood games by waving a red flag amongst the cheer squad as the cue.

Straight back from the ad... there is the man in the gold suit i have heard about waving an almighty red flag.

I am glad you enjoy our chant but do you really need to be given a cue to start it up?

Your Chant?? Since when did you have copyright? Freo (as every club) uses the same chants. I like the chants your Cheer Squad uses, they came from every other club too. By the way, get a decent club song.

As for the other ****s who are posting saying the chant wont work, I dont see them trying to start it with thier respective clubs. And this defender person, who cares who it is, just a waste of oxygen. Gets its rocks off bagging a guy on the net, chances are it couldnt get it any other way.

Reason you couldnt hear Foxhat was because the CAAS were too loud, they were hurting your sensitive ears.
I couldnt hear the Tiger Grog squad at all on Friday night, wonder why? Also noted (and yelled out) that you were missing QUITE A FEW members, what happened? Was there a tupperware party that everyone had to attend? Again Richmond supporters have shown how much faith they have.

.

when the clown actually said he loved the Freo Chant so much that he was going to copy it by waving a red flag to let dopes like you know when to sing it. Sounds like he was cashing in to me.

Original Chant Copyright 1975 / 1976: Sandgropers Cheering favourite son, D.K Lillee as he would come belting in from the river end towards a granite hard, WACA strip with the Freo Doctor at his back.

CAAS
23 Jul 2002, 15:18
English Soccer fans were singing chants similar to the one that Sydney, Freo, Pies and other teams long b4 the sandgropers mob.
And you say we need a red flag to get it going, I do recall Freo C.S members holding things up to get the crowd going as well.

Have fun on your September Holiday goat.

S.J Rollin
23 Jul 2002, 15:42
English Soccer Fans: Similar but not the same as the "Lillee" Chant.

Yes I do say you need a red flag to cheer... we all read the instructions on the internet and saw it in action on TV.

Cheers... I am off to Queensland and Melbourne in mid-September. I only wish there were more Melbourne Finals this year.

Dont get angry CAAS... I think it is a reasonable immitation of the Freo chant depsite it lacking the right phonectics.

23 Jul 2002, 16:11
To set the record straight, English soccer fans chanted 'Ennnnggggllllaaaannnnnndddd' during the 1966 World Cup Final. I watched it the other day. So it was not Lillee.

I agree Defender. The Collingwood chant is just rediculous, in fact any chant is rediculous, and why should supporters/specators cheer anything? How about we scrap the whole idea of having a live audience in AFL games Defender?

I have it on good authority that that is not true. Freo did it first! And someone pinched it.
Now Defender why would Fremantle be chanting COOOOOLLIIIIIIINGWOOOOOOD?

I have spoken to Joffa many many times he knows who I am. I don't like him. I don't respect him. Most people feel the same way as I do. I wouldn't waste my time with him. Ive said it all before.
Then why the hell are you posting threads about him and replying to anything related to Joffa if you dont care about him? Admit you love him and have a secret crush on him.

Defender you are a living contradiction.

dillo_09

Just to let you know, that during the late 80's and early 90's the long drawn out Collingwood was used by the cheer squad regularly. How do I know? I was there and started many of them as I really like the chant and when you get a lot of people doing it, it sounds awesome.

Collingwood were using it long before Freo were even thought of as an AFL side!! It died from use, obviously, and Joffa has resurrected it and good luck to him. Hope it works.
