Will miss both terribly, both on and off the field.

Well played on two excellent careers.

Salute.

I remember seeing Hoggy bat and bowl brilliantly for Aus A in 2002 against England. He deserved his call up. #31 forever. Onya, Hoggy and Gilly.

Yep, see you later boys. Really sad for the way they go off.

I'm gonna miss Gilly so much. So so much. :(

Way to go Australia. Drop George.

His usual 10-20 runs would have been very handy today too.

What else did you expect from Ponting, dropped Hoggy at every moment possible even though he always delivered when he played. Ponting is a douche.

I always expected it. Any other spinner that averages 25.5 in ODI's for 4-5 years wouldn't be dropped for their final match.

He can sometimes be a erratic captain from a tactical perspective, ey? The air wasn't exactly rent with clouds in Brisbane, so playing him wouldn't have been a bad idea. His bowling against the Indians had improved very much since the 2003 WC (when he got pummelled in the final).

Anyway, Hogg was a good player (lacked a Test-match temperament, but ah well) and Adam Gilchrist was a legend (although I noticed that his output with the bat - in Tests at least - had declined and his glovework was beginning to disintegrate, so his timing is just right).

I wish fair tidings upon both.

Didn't know where to put it so I put it here.

Seems someone had something to say to Gilly which he didn't like.

poor blokes, gilly lasted 3 balls and hogg dropped, not for the scrap book.

Hoggy getting dropped was harsh but fair, he bowled poorly in the first final, Clark had a average game but the selectors made a call to give the aussies the best chance in the game.

Cricket is like that.

Yes well done "Andrew" Gilchrist.

Nice run-in with a camera man after he got out too.

Did you see him bowl in the 1st final? He was rubbish, India's batsmen were belting the rubbish out of him and Michael Clarke got 3-50 anyway and was more dangerous!
