Just on the AFL website and seen that Mitch Thorp & Beau Dowler have been selected in the squad to take on Collingwood.
Good signs to see Mitch and B1 getting a run.
Also saw Benny McGlynn's name in the squad.
Love to see them all running around on Friday against the pies.
That's great news, I've been hanging to see these 2 boys get back out on the park again... I haven't seen much of Thorpe but heard he has all the makings of a good KP player, hopefully he gets more game time this year!

Tim Boyle would be rested - he did get a knock in the ankle against the crows in the 1st qtr.
Bailey still recovering, Crawford being rested is wierd seeing he's having the first 3 rounds off?

I think Mustons' injury will make us extra, extra cautious with Bailey.
Is it still 18 + 8 on the bench? So 3 to be cut?
I'd say Boyler has been rested to make room for one of Dowler and Thorp to actually play. Perhaps even see Franklin rested and both in? Roughie will play since he missed the first few matches. Moss and Kennedy not in again would suggest they're out of consideration for round 1, which isn't all that surprising.
Stokes out as well I see.
Would have liked to have seen Whitecross get a few minutes off the bench just to give him a taste before an expected season at Box Hill.

I think Boyler resting his ankle injury. Same with Stokes, resting his arm after hurting it last weekend.

My god its about bloody time these guys get a game and i hope we see BOTH of them get a run! three weeks too late for mine! Definately room for both of them on friday night, would love to see Dowler and Thorp get a crack in the key poisitions CHF,FF buddy on the flank but wouldnt mind seeing him rested!!!
Play roughy down back because there is a possibility he may need to play down there this year with injuries etc! Hope one of them kicks a couple and makes a late claim for round 1! Also praying Stuey Dew gets some more game time, god does he have some class, everyone says hes fat unfit and slow but he was dancing around the adelaide boys last week!

Maybe they're giving Crawf a real break. A game now is going to count little in four weeks time. Should help him stay fit for most of the year too.
good to get the young forwards back in with laddo & McGlynn..
interesting to see the amount of opportunities being given to Tucky, Cyril and Morton, being primed for round 1 starts with all the suspensions perhaps?

Would have loved to see more of Kennedy Moss and Renouf but those guys have done well so far.
Was hoping Bailey would get a quarter or 2. Likewise with Whitecross.
I hope thorpy and dowler kick a few goals. Will be interesting to see how they're used in and around Roughy and Franklin.
Crawfs carrying a slight knee injury.
Buckleys not playing!

What about Daicos and Gavin Brown?
We may have a chance this week.

I agree! - I think a few people forgot that Boyle took 3-4 years even taking into consideration his bad injury.

It is going to be interesting to see how Thorp and Dowler go, rapt to see Thorp included. I saw him destroy Geelong in the VFL last year, with a very limited preperation. If he is good nick then he could put pressure on Boyle to play well. I think the big inclusion this week is McGlynn, I hope somebody goes and sees him play to see how fit he is. If his fitness is ok, he should be included in our team for round 1 as we will need another hard in and under player to rotate through the square against the dees with Lewis Hodge and Crawf all not playing. Tuck might also get a game in round 1 just for his ability to play in the centre square.
I expect we will also be fielding a strong side next week at Box Hill to get some match fitness into some players and finalise the side for round 1.
If we don't suffer any more injuries then it will be an extremely tough job selecting our side when all of the suspended players become available.

It really is quite frightening how much depth we have now. I remember the days we used to crap ourselves if we had players with injuries - now its like oh well we have someone to take their spot. The recent premiership teams all seemed to have the ability to cover the loss of good players - I can smell September!!!!
Anyone on here going to the game?
Yes. See the other thread.
