View Full Version : Mic Malthouse uses cheer squad to cheat

Ch 9 (Eddie) reported, and showed vision. of Mick going to each end of the ground pre-match and talking to the cheersquad(s).
The point was put to him that he asked them to return the ball slowly when the Tiges kicked a goal, and quickly if we kicked one.
Plenty of wink, wink, nudge, nudge going on here between coach and commentators. It lead me to believe the real reason was as follows;
If Richmond kicked a point, the ball was to be returned quickly so that the scum had little time to set a zone defence. And of course if Collingwood kicked a point, the ball was to be retained in the crowd for as long as possible to enable the Pies to set a defence upon kick in.
This should enable us to restrict their long option when returning the ball to play. It seemed to work as a lot of the Richmond kick ins were to a short b/pocket option. Ours, especially after half time, seemed to be long kicks.
No one can acuse Mick Malthouse of not thinking the game right through.
Certainly not in the spirit of the game.
The AFL are onto Malhouse and have asked for a please explain.

However the plan doesn't work too well when it doesn't even go up Richmonds end for a half of football!!!
Speaking of Cheer Squads, last night at about the 15 min mark of the last quarter the Richmond cheer squad threw a bundle of about 20-30 of those cardboard goal signs (all Richmond ones..none had Collingwood insignias) at the Crowd from Level 2 into Level 1 of the Ponsford stand.
Now cardboard doesnt sound like a dangerous weapon, but bunched in the way it was, from that height, and with that wind, it nearly took off the head of a chick sitting near me. She may have been a Richmond supporter too. She was definately shaken up after the incident and not even a story in the paper this week about someone throwing a white snooker ball and nearly killing someone was enough to deter these animals.
You may give our Cheer Squad crap for trying to start up crowd involved chants but at least they dont try to injure innocent people when things don't go their way.
Go Woods.

Considering Nicks is full of the people you like to abuse on BF, I have no idea why you even go there?
And to your question? ANY post by a troll is trolling.

I wasn't there - being a Sydney-based Essendon supporter of course I wasn't; but is what Defender is suggesting is that Mick Malthouse spoke to the Richmond cheer squad and asked them to time when they returned the ball, and no-one but Defender saw it?
Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm convinced.

It was shown on the channel 9 coverage last night Bomber Spirit so I think a lot more people than just me saw it.
The thread link above tells you what the Collingwood cheer squad heard from Mick Malthouse.
So dont take my word for it take the word of others from the Collingwood discussion board at Nick's.
CQ is a moderator at Nicks this is his response:

I'd never been to Nick's board before, and I doubt I ever will again, but I'm still none the wiser.
OK, he may have spoken to the Collingwood cheer squad, but I still can't believe he'd have spoken to the Richmond cheer squad too. That just doesn't make sense.

The thing I find hilarious is that Defender claims to be a Collingwood supporter. Yet he is always the first to highlight something negative about the Club.
Daics
As I have said before, FJD feeds off the bites he gets from Pies supporters, I know it is hard, but just don't respond to any of his trolls & he will go away, put him on ignore if you must, at least that way you won't see any of the crap he writes.

lol! you just replied! hahaha:rolleyes:
And huricane, i noticed that you were a bit touchy when it came to suggestion of a fine! Is Eddy running out of companies to rip off?
Seriously, thats typical collingwood. Cheating! I think the AFL should have another look at that Bribe thing. Cos i wouldn't be suprised.

What are you going on about? I have no idea what you are referring too. What fine?
Don't think Malthouse should be punished for what he did, it was in fact very smart and original. Besides, someone would have to prove what he said first.
