View Full Version : Zac Dawson - Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
I dont want to keep putting Zac down because i know every week he's out there doing his best, but has he actually shown any sign of improvement since 2007??
It looks like he's put on a bit of weight but from what i've seen in the NAB Cup he still seems to be lost out on the field, and there were times against Adelaide where he looked like had no idea what was happening!
There was one incident when the ball was bombed outside 50M to the top of the goal square and his attempted 'punch' was laughable, then of course there was the Brett Burton mark where he played the 'stepladder' role perfectly.... so, do you guys think he has improved?

I think you could have made this point in one of the many other threads about Zac Dawson.

No worries. :)
Just do a search and you'll find pages of reading.
Zac's been dragged over the coals by heaps of late.
He's also been defended by the those fighting the good fight! :thumbsu:

This might be the dumbest comment I have eer read on here.
Firstly, at least Zac was playing in front.
Secondly, if I recall correctly, Jon Brown was a "stepladder" for Trent Croad when we played against Brisbane last year. Does this mean Brown too "has no idea what's happening?"
This is just another Zac bashing thread thinly veiled as a constructive line of questioning. The clown that posted it should be sanctioned accordingly.
Bit harsh, but i was thinking the same thing. How does being a stepladder for Brett Burton make you sh1t? Some of the best players in the AFL have been step ladders for the Birdman!!!

Now and then i see him and i think "he could really make a player"
VERY prone to brain-fades, ability doesnt seem to be the problem, confidence and horrible decision making under-pressure is

attending the Haw vs. Carl game about 2 weeks ago with two die hard hawthorn mates apparently there is no hope for Dawson according to them...
some passing comments (without the swearing...) by them that were clearly backed up with the events at the ground that night:
"he seems timid out there"
"he doesnt look like a footballer"
"he seems nervous when he is near the ball and then when he has it he seems so surprised that he has either cant figure out what to do with it or is in shock that he has it..."
I havent seen much of him and the only real knowledge I have of dawson was the 8 that Rocca kicked on him...
are they spot on or can they not see the so called "light"?
oh, another Dawson thread. How fresh.

I have seen a small improvement from 06 but none from 07. There was all this talk about Dawson really improving but he didn't play like he really improved in the NAB Cup.

And he couldn't even get a touch in the practice match against the Pies.
