Yes we should make a thread.
No Rhyce won't play 22 games IMO.
Yes Didak should play more in the centre.
Wood won't be a bad DT pickup, seems to get a bit of the ball.

whos more likely to be tagged
lockyer or swan?
Can Chris Egan stay in the side and improve his cheap 250k (SC) price-tag?
Have those that have seen him rated his performances?
Will Fraser get more of the ball with Wood playing?
Is Cloke kicking straighter yet or as bad as last year?

Yes, probably about 40%.

Swan, easily. But at the same time, I think he deals with tags very well.

Is Cloke kicking straighter yet or as bad as last year?
Fraser will get more of the ball up forward, and I think he will be back to his best anyway, after carrying an injury throughout 2007.
Cloke is still kicking the same.
Can Chris Egan stay in the side and improve his cheap 250k (SC) price-tag?

Don't know. He should probably start round 1, but will have to work very hard to stay in the side. We won't know until we see him perform.

I have just Wood, Didak and Egan in my team.
Swan and Heater are too expensive.
Egan could be an excellent pickup, if for nothing else than capital gains where he could double in price in teh first half of the season.
Stanley could be another cheapie. The problem with the Collingwood mids is that we have a massive rotation and all our mids spend considerable time on the bench or in defence or in teh forward pocket.

Yes. He will get a fair amount of it and his disposal from what I've seen is silky smooth and he had very few fluffed kicks. He will not play the usual goal sneak role. He'll either play wing/half back or even midfield or at the very least a floating HFF racking up possies.
Swan's not very expensive in Super Coach. It depends on your situation. I would have loved to put him in my SC team but I was at the stage of completing my midfield by topping it off with star players and I had a lot of money left so I spent more money on different mids.
I think he'll definitely improve his price because in 2007 his disposal efficiency rate was 10% below his average and I think that will correct itself. In super coach the effectiveness of your disposal counts for a lot of your points.

Cloke's second half of the year was much better than his first half in terms of scoring accuracy. I expect him to continue in much the same vein as the 2nd half of '07.

Heater is a good option i think, he got injured in a few games and carried that corked thigh for a few games. He is expensive but most peoples strategy is loading the backline with guns and getting cheep mids.

Hey guys,
Do you think Nathan Brown will get any games or too many tall forwards already ahead of him. Did look good in NAB cup,
Good luck this year except against Hawks

Yes he will play a few games. I think he'll be looking at around 10ish.
However, doesn't seem to be the sort of player you'd want in your DT. Better options available.

What do you guys think of Ben Reid as a DT prospect this year?
Looks like he'll play the mobile 3rd tall forward this year alongside Cloke and Rocca. Should make me some cash?

Competing with Rusling. IMO Reid will struggle to play more than 10 games if Rusling stays fit. If Rusling goes down, he will probably play every game.

You MUST include these types of expensive players in your initial squad... not necessarily Heater or Swan.

Obviously so. But I've chosen players from other teams.

I thought Heater was a lock for most teams? He got injured last year and scored low on a few games because he was injured. He is under priced and star potential

Hi guys,
ah yeh i was looking for you thoughts on didak? quite cheap but will he bounce back from the controversy of last yr, which looked to affect his form somewhat? appreciate your thoughts on this!
thanks
That didn't really affect his form, it was more him coming back from injury than anything and towards the end, especially in the finals series (27 disposals in the midfield vs. WCE BOG by a mile) he was brilliant.

Medhurst or Didak.
Medders: 78 76 78 60
Didak: 58 66 ?? 69
?? = Didnt play
Medders is 40k less then didak too, im going medders unless theres a better reason to go didak.
You are talking pre-season here. Didak would be taking it slowly while Medhurst is given heaps of gametime in the midfield. As soon as round 1 starts he will be back to the pocket/hff while Thomas/Didak/Davis get more gametime in the middle and our full midfield is in. However I think he could have a break out year with more spurts through the middle. Didak is ready to explode in terms of impact and DT/SC scores and IMO will score much more than Medhurst and much more reliably.
IMO Medhurst has huge potential as a midfielder. He is very strong and balanced and rarely goes to ground in any situation including when tackled. Needs to learn to make some quicker decisions and more safer passes when up the ground though. Unlike other small forwards who aren't natural mids who try to become midfielders he actually has the "inside" part of the game down pretty well (Clearances, reading the ball, even putting his head over it, moving in traffic) but just some other polished/outside stuff he needs some work with (getting in handball chains/running in groups, disposal under pressure). With most other flashy forwards that aren't natural midfielders they can get the ball, break the lines and often dispose it well but just can't find the ball enough especially in traffic.
